Out of the box - These boots felt broken in right out of the box. The shank isn't very sturdy but that probably added to the on road comfort. I just spent two weeks in the mountains and while they were comfortable, I found they weren't rigid enough when transversing over rocks and such. I would recommend these boots for urban applications over field ones.

The boots are comfy. Didn't need to break them in. Make sure to order a size smaller then you normally would unless you are wearing extra thick socks.

Purchased these for my husband as his were at least over 4 years old. He absolutely loves these. Straight out of the box comfort & he cannot afford to deal with painful shoes on his job. He is usually very skeptical about shoes I pick for him but he was surprised himself at how great these were. Kept his feet warm and were very agile.

These boots are exactly as advertised. I ordered 2 different sizes to make sure I got the proper fit. They run a little on the big side. The boots fit fine and feel great. Zappos.com is hands-down the best online shoe store. When I order shoes, they arrive at my house the next day without ever having to pay for fast shipping.

It\'s very light for a work boot and gives excellent ankle support. Unlike other boots I\'ve had in the past, these do not require weeks to months of wear-in time before they feel comfortable enough. I pretty much took them out of the box and wore them to work the next day. I am a flight nurse who now works in a busy ICU and I am now on my second pair of these fine boots.

Best boots for the job so far... I researched through friends and online reviews about the best boots I could buy for what I do. I work outside as a Satellite Technician. This means I am "Everywhere Everyday", you name it. Mud, roofs, building debris, crawl spaces, water, concrete powder, hot & cold surfaces, rain, etc. I am very impressed with how much BEATING these boots have taken so far and the resistance they have. They are very light and comfortable. The only time I think about the fact that I am wearing boots is when I kneel for long periods of time and the toe starts to put pressure in my feet. Other than that, I know I will be looking forward to buying another pair whenever I am done with these boots.

Great boot for work and pleasure - I've spent up to 300 dollars on boots and nothing compares to Magnum. Although the shoe laces could be a little shorter but there is no need to break them in because they already seem like they are broken in; but I guess the only thing I don’t know about is the laces and the way they lace up. They are almost like walking barefoot only with padding on your soles and my feet are pretty sensitive...Well good luck and hope you feel as comfortable as I do in these boots if you decide to buy them.

Small problem fixed next day - I bought a pair of Magnum Response II 8" boots. They were here the next day in BFE Central, WA state. There was a small problem with the boots inter heel, which sometimes happens in manufacturing process. I called Zappos up, and they sent out a new pair the next day. This included new boots and a return label to get the defective ones back. As for the boots, the magnum is the only boot I have found that does not break my feet in. They are light and comfort is perfect. I wish we would have had these when I was in the Army, I would have had many more enjoyable days without sore feet and back. So, get two pairs. The steel toe makes the whole boot extremely rigid, so there isn't much flex in the sole. Good for walking around a job site, but will chew up your feet (expect blisters on forefoot and heel) if you plan to run or otherwise put a lot of miles in them. I bought them for paintball and should've gone with a standard jungle boot instead.

I've lived in these boots for a little over a year now, 5 days a week, 8-12 hours a day through the salt, snow, rain, mud, you name it. They have held up great. They do scuff and scratch but a little bit of boot polish goes a long way if you need them to look good for duty use. I would recommend replacing the laces with some 550 paracord because the laces that come with the boot suck. Comfortable, breathable but warm, nice quiet soft grippy sole. Most comfortable steel toe boot I've worn. When this pair is destroyed I'm going to buy another, they are worth it.

These boots are winners on every count--looks, fit, and comfort. I recommend them to anyone seeking a great steel-toed work boot.

These boots have been through every possible scenario to destroy them and they have held up amazingly. I work in a shipping warehouse. I'm on my feet 9 hours a day and I have used these boots for a year. Through snow, sun, water, oil, sharp objects falling on them, heavy objects falling on them and more. I had a 600lb drive unit fall on my foot and only had a scuff on the toe to show for it. They were the most comfortable boots I've ever had on my feet and they are as comfortable as the day I put them on. For about a week the right heel would rub but a set of insoles fixed the problem. I would say it was a problem with my foot, not the boots. The top, back has a low point which makes it easier to put these taller boots on even with a high instep (the top part of your foot that meets your leg. A pull tab would make putting them on easier but it isn't difficult. I normally wear a size 13 and the 13 - regular/medium width (D) fit perfectly. The sole and the leather have held up nicely but I have noticed about half way up the back where the leather attaches to the nylon it has separated from being pulled on. Thank you for an amazing pair of boots. I'm now a customer for life and I recommend these to anyone in a setting where they need steel toe boots and they are on their feet all day.

Not a bad boot. I put it through some rough times. I used them falling trees for a lumber company. They were true to size. I tore up the leather over the steel toe quite quickly.
