Dansko’s Rule! I love Dansko’s and this shoe, but, like most Dansko’s; this shoe needs some breaking in. After wearing them around the house and had the shoe stretchers in them for a while, they are starting to break in. I've worn them to work twice and have gotten compliments both times.

Desiree - The only thing I noticed that was different with this shoe from all of the other Danskos is that the sides and heel seem to hit higher than usual causing some problems when I first wore them. Break-in time is usually not an issue with Dansko.

Dansko Desiree - This is a great shoe for anyone who is on their feet all day; it has the Dansko footbed but very cute style. I bought it in two colors, and always get compliments and a "Where did you get those great shoes?" They are a little tight across the top so if you have high arches, beware.

Dansko Desiree - Agree that the first time wearing, the shoes were a bit stiff, but once broken in they are very comfortable. Due to foot surgery, the Dansko brand is the only option I can now wear and this new style offers a more professional look over the clog/mule style for the business office. Definitely order a pair!

Excellent purchase - It took a good three or four wearings to break them in, but they now fit like a glove and I, like others get compliments every time I wear them. I'm really happy with this purchase and am considering getting a black pair (I have these in teal).

I really love my new Dansko's. The style is so cute. I ordered the red color and was quite pleased with the dark red. They appeared to be a little brighter than they actually are. The comfort is what you can count on with Dansko's, but what is even better is they are not as high as the traditional Dansko style.

Dansko Desiree - Typical of Dansko, this shoe is like walking on air. It does take a bit to get them worked in, however. Make sure you have band aids and several pairs of "not socks" on hand those first few days as the seams at the heel will chew you up. Once you get them worked in, you will LOVE this shoe! The style is versatile so these shoes go well with capris pants, slacks and casual skirts.

Dansko - Desiree - I love these shoes, I bought the black and brown. They have a sleeker appearance than the typical Dansko shoe. For some reason one pair was more comfortable than the other originally. I almost returned the one pair, but it was fine the second time out.

Wonderful! Wore them all day the first day I had them and they were sooo comfy! I tried to get them in another color, but they were sold out. Will try again later in the season.

Another great Dansko! I love the professional style Danskos and this is another one to love. Comfortable, true to size, and very attractive.

Rare find - very good fit for wide feet - Well constructed shoe - stylish and wonderful for those of us seeking "combination last", usually so hard to find in this day/age of pointy and tapered toe boxes. Requires a little break-in time with leather, but worth every penny spent on these. I needed a low vamp for high instep and this shoe accommodates that problem as well. I'm very happy w/ them and Zappos for stocking them.

Cute comfort... All Dansko shoes are top-quality and extremely comfortable. This style is cute enough to pair with skirts or pants, and will keep you comfortable during long days on the job. Looks a little wide and heavy, but once on your foot -- not so! They managed to somehow taper, yet staying comfortable.

Dansko Desiree--Outstanding Loafers - I bought a pair last month to replace another pair of walking shoes that took the skin off the back part of my foot when my feet swelled on an 18 hour flight. Afraid that the same thing may happen when it was time for me to return on an even lengthier flight to South Africa, I decided to buy another pair of shoes. I went online to Zappos and decided to order a pair of Desiree loafers to see how comfortable they were. These shoes are awesome. The shoe size was exact and they are undoubtedly the most comfortable shoes you out there for walking comfort. It took me two days and two extremely long flights plus seven hours wait in between flights. The Desirees were comfortable throughout the trip and I never had to force them on my feet. The shoes are extremely well made. Once you put your feet into another pair of shoes after wearing a pair of Desirees you will notice the difference in comfort and quality. I own four pairs of Dansksos. The width and size are as marked--some of the other Danskos are narrower in width or I found larger in size than marked. You can't go wrong with a pair of Desirees. They're the best! Definitely worth the money.

Great Service - I have purchased many things from Zappos.com and I am continually pleased with their fantastic customer service. I have recommended them to friends, family and even strangers. I love the Desiree's in pomegranate. I have a high instep and they fit like a glove. So cute.

Non-clunky Danskos! I have a big collection of the Dansko Professional clogs. I've hated the dressier lines so far (I made the mistake of buying a pair of black Dansko pumps a few years ago. These were some of the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever purchased). However, the Desiree is wonderful. They have a little less arch support than the Professionals, but otherwise, I think that they're almost as comfortable. I bought them in both the brown and red. For sizing, I take a 40 in the Dansko Professional clogs and purchased 40s in the Desirees and those fit me well (in case you already have the clogs and want to know if the sizing is similar). Unlike the clogs, the Desirees are dressier, although they work quite well with my ankle length jeans and pants.

Comfortable and business casual appropriate - This shoe (for being a "comfort shoe") is good looking, and looks and feels more expensive even than the price. I typically wear 3" heels to work every day, and after my feet started to hurt enough I decided to purchase these to balance out the 'rotation.' I am delighted. They look great with suit pants (although they are still not as formal as heels), but they don't go very well with most of my casual apparel. I highly recommend these shoes, and plan on buying another pair.

These shoes look great, but they didn't fit. I normally wear a 6.5 and I ordered the 37. My heels flop out of the shoe, so they are going back. Leather is pretty stiff, so if they don't fit correctly, I'm guessing they would take awhile to break in.

Desiree - This shoe is super cute, but not as comfy as some other Danskos I have. The toe area is a bit smaller than I expected & the sole doesn't feel as "cushioned" as others. Of course, this is a cuter & lower heeled shoe, maybe that's why. I can't walk all day without my feet yelling at me in these shoes.

Great looking shoe, but . . . . . . This shoe is slightly narrower than "medium." The toe box is roomy, but the instep area is narrow. I needed to have it stretched in order to wear it comfortably. It requires "break-in" on the heel area because it's so stiff. I had to wear padding the first 5-6 times in order to avoid blisters. The leather is of good quality and it looks great, but be prepared to work with it to make it comfortable.

Nice Looking, need to break in - This is a nice looking shoe with jeans; it is not the most fashionable but pretty good looking, and for those of us who need comfort it is great. It took a few band aids to break in. It also accommodates my orthotics nicely. Walked around NYC in them yesterday without a blister!

Not for bunions - This shoe I am sure would be really comfortable if it weren't for the bunion on my right foot. As it is, the top of the shoe puts pressure on my bunion causing some pain. However, it is not that bad, and so I still wear these shoes. One other problem: the bottoms are a little hard, and so I find the bottom of my foot is sometimes sore after a lot of wear. The look of them is not too bad for someone who cannot wear prettier, more feminine shoes.

Love the look, but had to have them stretched... Like many reviewers here, I love the look of these! I, too, am a regular Dansko wearer. I've never had to "break in" any of my other Danskos, but these? Wow. Not only did I have to break them in, I eventually took them to a cobbler to have the vamp stretched professionally! They're comfortable now, but they took work to get here. I expect more from Dansko out of the box.
