The Patagonia Retro X is the best jacket on the planet. The windproof barrier makes the difference. I used this jacket for 13 years and much harder than most will use this jacket. I have used it alone and as a mid-layer while Ice Climbing, Winter Mountaneering, extended work related expeditions to Alaska, Canada's Arctic and across the northern U.S. The Retro X performed perfectly. I know the jacket has several more years of service in it, but, I have ordered a replacement (because of a great price) and decided to give my current well used but still serviceable jacket to a homeless man who I have know for several years. Those looking for quality and warmth your search has just ended. The Retro X will not disappoint. Patagonia makes an exceptional product. Zappo's is amazing. I've been using them for years with nothing but stellar service from them.

The jacket speaks for itself. Amazing. The real deal is Zappos, they are the best people that I have ever worked with when it comes to online ordering of anything. They treat me like royalty. If I want something that Zappos has, I am definitely using them. If you are lucky enough to get the VIP account, you will know what I am talking about.

Ordered for my husband for Xmas. He loves it. True to size. XL has plenty of room for a sweater underneath. Warm, cozy and great quality.

Great, warm, cozy jacket. Got it for my husband. He's hard to please and he liked it right away. Right fit, liked the length , and liked that it didn't have a hood. Good for Michigan winters. My only complaint was it was a little stiff at first, but that goes away after a few wearings. Love Zappos.

Got this jacket two days ago (just before the huge arctic wave). It fits a little bit big, perfect as an outer layer. I live in Colorado so I am used to fairly cold weather, and this jacket handles it with no problem. The one small thing about the fit that I would mention: it's a little on the stiff side because of the wind-blocking layer. Hopefully this subsides as I wear it and break it in. Overall it is pretty much exactly what I was looking for, and Patagonia products combined with Zappos shipping = Amazing.

Awesome coat, love the color combo. I get compliments all the time. Blocks wind better than North Face Denali. Not tailored but fits well, might look baggy if you don't have broad shoulders. Order a size down from normal. Chest 42-44, get a Medium.

The best, most versatile jacket I've ever owned. After I wore out the first one, I bought a second. I'm 6'2" approx 170, and the medium fit me perfectly. The windstop protection is very effective. Highly recommended!

Careful of the Spanish Moss color! The green looks nothing like the picture. I took it out of the box and it was more like radioactive green than what is shown in the picture. I had to return it because I didn't want to look like Oscar the Grouch after going through the washer.

I own two Retro-X jackets, one is this season, and I also own a North Face Denali, which is often compared to this Patagonia. I highly prefer the Patagonia. It is softer, yet thicker, and the inside material doesn't wear out as quickly as the Denali's. I prefer the more obscure logo of the Patagonia--it's more classy. What is not obscure is the jacket! I stand out on campus in my Patagonia in a sea of North Faces.

Very warm jacket, worth every penny. The jacket is definitely Chicago wind proof. Zappos coming through for their customers like always.

Pretty nice jacket. Good deal if it's on sale, but I wouldn't pay retail. It's super warm and truly windproof. High quality stitching, etc. The material is a bit coarser than I expected. I am 5'10", 200, 44" chest 36" waist. The large fits well, except that the sleeves are a bit baggy. It layers over a sweater comfortably. I imagine I could probably squeeze into a medium, but the fabric isn't very stretchy, so if you are unsure I would err to the larger size.
