This is the second time I purchased this watch. The first one I wore on an expedition to the summit of Kilimanjaro. It was the perfect companion. I always knew the altitude, could check the barometer, it looked great too. I gave it to my guide after the expedition because he kept commenting on it, and I was pretty sure he would never be able to afford to purchase one for himself. When I got back home I purchased the Suunto Core to replace it. The Core is OK, it's supposed to be an upgrade from the Vector, but I didn't like it and so I didn't wear it. I just bought the Vector again, couldn't be happier to have my perfect outdoor watch again. This one is a classic for a reason. You'll have to get your own because I'm hanging on to this one!

My wife bought me a Vector for my birthday as I recently was in need of a 'field' watch. I consider myself somewhat of a watch aficionado, and have been impressed so far. Have read complaints about the sensitivity of the face, but Suunto appears to have taken steps to correct with the crystal. Watch looks great, now it is just a matter of calibrating everything and then getting my head around the functionality. Watch looks great.

I am now on my third Vector and absolutely love and swear by them. The display is easy to read especially if you have vision issues. Most chrono watches are too small to read for me and Suunto solves the problem. I get about 2 years out of a set of batteries. I am about to buy a new one as the printed char tend to rub off over time and use (the only negative).

Quality product from Suunto -
This wrist top computer/ABC watch is exactly what you pay for. I haven't had it long, so I can't speak to its (long term) durability, however in my job and in my training I give equipment he**...and my Vector seems not to care. No signs of wear, and after about two days, I got the hang of its functions.
My Suunto Vector reminds me a lot of James Bond. I kick its a** in all sorts of conditions...it not only wins these fights, but it has accompanied me (due to its stylish design) to several weddings, and dinner parties in style. A – Sensitive and quality. B - Good at helping predict weather trends (spot on). C - Can't ask for a better electronic compass. Stopwatch & timer features are the only things that I find this watch falling short. It would be nice if in the Vector, you got the same quality ABC wrist top computer, and also got a chrono with memory, and an int. timer. Does come with timer feature, but only "stop watch" feature...no chrono w/ memory. I guess I could have bought an alternate Suunto, but I wanted a Vector.

Overall very pleased with this watch. Great looking and durable. This is the 2nd Suunto I have owned. Not a 5-star because comfort could be improved. The back of the watch is hard and not contoured, whereas the Suunto M-series watches are more form-fittting. As a result, my wrist bone feels some pressure from the watch at times. Not a deal breaker for me - I wear the watch almost every day. And it may just be my wrist. I purchased the green bezel watch with the lighter watch face background. Very easy to read and functions well. Pleased with purchase.

I bought this watch for my husband and he really likes it except the loop that you put the end of the band back through. The band will not stay in the loop. He is going to order a different band.

Just got my Vector watch. No sooner did I set the time and date when it started to malfunction. As I scrolled through the modes to compass, the screen went blank and the watch jumped to the time mode, but reset the time to 6:00 p.m. and reset the date to Sat 1/1/2000. I called customer service to find out if maybe I had done something incorrect, but after speaking to the representative, I was told that the watch "shouldn't do that" and that I should try to replace the battery...on a watch I literally received 10 minutes earlier! Not good. Not good at all! The watch is going back.

I did not buy this watch, thankfully. Researching the item, I found a couple of interesting paradoxes. First, the a priori statement: this is an extreme conditions watch. Ok, so let us look at some empirical scenarios (which, ironically, are not so extreme). I called the manufacturer and asked, if I am backpacking and decide to take a dip in the river, this wrist computer is ok, right? Nope. According to them, I absolutely have to take this thing off as it is not designed for swimming. Although it is water resistant to 100 feet, you cannot swim with it on because it will leak. In a pool, according to one review. It is water resistant to 100 feet. 100 feet of what? Often, structural and mechanical elements exposed to pressure have some time increment associated as well, EG 100' for 10 minutes. Nope, none of that. Fluff spec, period. I was told it was for rain exposure. 100' of rain. Secondly, the altimeter. Some guy reviewed this elsewhere and said he calibrated it and checked against actual altitude markers and it was off by a couple hundred feet. Another guy said his temperature gauge read the same temp all the time - body temp. This watch is what the old timers call hooey. Charlatan. Joke. Here is what the guys who wrote the original boy scout manual used: the sun and the stars. Go ahead, buy this watch and look cool like Mark Walberg when he wore it as a a now obvious prop in Shooter. In the end I replaced my cheap Casio with another cheap Casio. The first went into every pool, stream, and lake over the last five years until I broke the strap and smashed the face. Oh, and both are water resistant to 200'.
