Purchased the shoes for my dad because his older Wilberts had seen the end of its life [after 3 years of being worn every day]. Very high quality shoes indeed. Comfort is incredible.

Bought a pair of Wilbert's about a year ago. After spending 30 years as a purist who would only wear shoes with full leather soles, these shoes turned me around 180 degrees! They are so springy and comfortable that I dread wearing anything else! Truly these shoes are amazingly comfortable and I am looking to find another pair in black.

Very nice looking but did take a few times to feel comfortable. Well-made and would buy them again.

The Wilbert is an extremely comfortable, well-made shoe. It endures all climates, looks great, and is very durable. Perfect for business casual. I have owned my pair of Wilberts since 2008 and have resoled them twice. I just got them back after the second resole, but I changed the sole from the soft rubber, hollow heel original to a hard, leather-and-rubber sole. This should help these wonderful shoes last another 20 years.

I'd been looking for a quality pair of brown oxfords that I could wear for both casual and business casual occasions, and the Wilbert seemed to fit the bill. When these arrived I was eager to slip into what I hoped was the end of my search, but after a day of wearing I was disappointed with the overall lack of comfort. The main issue I found was the arch felt very high, especially in my right foot. I'm sure the issue is with my foot because it's usually a problem to fit. Besides that I liked the feel of the shoe, the quality and feel of the soft leather, and the comfort and quiet of the rubber sole. I was unsure about the color, however. You either really like it or you don't and I would have needed more time to determine which camp I was in, but I had to return them (because of the fit) before I settled in either. Overall, if you like the style and color, have pretty "normal" fitting feet, and are looking for a quality shoe, you should check out the Wilbert.

Love, love, love these slippers. Just enough arch support to help out my aging feet, but not too restrictive. Very comfortable with a good stable feeling. Moisture absorbent so you don’t walk around with wet feet. I’m in my 60s and these slippers are just great. I’ll certainly buy a back-up pair.

Somewhat dissapointed. For a rather expensive shoe, I expected superior comfort right out of the box. Instead I'm still trying to break them in after about a month of wear. I'm a business traveler & need a 'plug-n-play' shoe. Lots of walking through airports & city streets. No time to mess around with break-in tricks. The crease created where my toes bend digs into the top of my foot. Also I have wide feet, purchased the widest shoe available, and still they put the squeeze on my little piglet. Sorry Allen-Edmonds but my Gold Cup oxfords from Sperry are still my go-to shoe (half the price, way! more comfortable, and in my opinion look better).

I love the style, but the crease where you bend your foot digs into my toes. Unfortunately, I didn't order them from Zappos or elsewhere with a good return policy. I special ordered these at an Allen Edmonds trunk show (hosted by a 3rd party retailer) and couldn't try them on before purchasing. Ultimately, the size was correct, but the comfort was not. I hope the fit and comfort works for you.

These shoes are advertised as being made in the USA. The pair I received was made in the Dominican Republic. A response to a review posted OVER A YEAR AGO said that current stock should all now be made in the U.S., and that the shoes must have "slipped through the cracks." Well, I guess these cracks are fairly large. I will be returning them.

When I first got these, I absolutely loved them. They fit well, and were very comfortable. After a few weeks, however, the sole started to come apart. Zappos was fantastic and took them back without a problem. When I notified Allen-Edmonds, though, they completely ignored me. After having a problem with another pair of AE shoes, they've lost me as a customer and I recommend against them.

This is a 5 star shoe. I own two (recrafted X 2). Literally heartbroken that Allen Edmond isn't making new shoes in my size (10.5). Giving one star to Allen Edmond for discontinuing my absolute favorite and then constantly putting ads in front of me with fantastic pictures of the shoe I can't ever buy again. It's a real bummer.

Oops, I previously posted a review, and then pulled the 2nd shoe out of the box. Are they factory 2nd's.
