really like the shoes...comfortable, very light and sizing right

I buy these for an older friend. He doesn't have a 'card' to make on-line purchases. He likes them, but the soles wear-out in about a year. The "Uppers" are still in good shape, but they need to be re-soled. So once a year, we order another pair. Previously, he had a pair (or two?) of the "Gus" shoes re-soled two and three times, before the Upper gave out. I'd say the soles could be made of a 'slightly-more-durable' material. -- I have two pairs of "previously-used" military boots, on which the soles are a "Vibram" pattern, but the soles are 'farkin' plastic. I walk Very-Carefully on ice and wet grass,... because they 'suck' for traction. (I understand why they had very-little-wear on the soles. They ain't worth-a-crap, except for foot-protection.) -- There IS a happy-medium between Traction and Wear-Longevity. You folks at Hush Puppies aren't stupid: Find it!!

First off let me give some kudos to Zappos.com for the super fast shipping. The Hush Puppies Gus fit my narrow foot just fine and the overall comfort was good. The problem I had with them is the sole has no grip, which is fine on carpet, but when you walked on a slick floor it was like you had skates on. I returned these and got a pair of Dunham Windsor, which has turned out to be a much better built shoe.

Very light shoe. Boxy, but wide enough for a wide foot and a high instep. EEE w/ an insert was O.K. 4 stars for comfort. BUT. Soles wore out in 3 mo. Definitely an indoor shoe. First soles I have worn out in 40 yrs. Have to give it 1 star for longevity.

Very comfortable, and lightweight, and the soles so lightweight and soft the traction grids are completely worn off and the back bottom outside corner of the shoes are almost half gone, as my feet slightly pronate outward when walking. I use these for office use only. There is slight separation between the shoe and soul at the left toe. Otherwise the shoes look brandnew. I will not buy a new pair every 6 to 12 months. I would buy these forever, but only when the product states sole durability has been improved, which will improve the shoe to 5 stars. I am not asking for much.

I like this shoe and am grateful that it is available in a narrow size, although even the narrow is too wide for my foot. I wish it were available in a size more narrow - a slim.

reasonably comfortable shoe but defective stitching in the upper wale of the left shoe (factory missed stitches) not evident until worn meaning I'll have to take brand new shoes in for repair.

Dear Hush Puppy I love the weight and comfort of your Gus shoe, however I have experience one problem the bottom soles wears out extremely fast. I have had two pair of your shoes in the last year. Recommendation reinforce soles with more durable material.

Too heavy . Too tight even though I ordered wide and not enough high arch for people with high arch like me .
