Arch too high for flat feet - OK, so I ordered these hoping that I had finally found the right summer walking shoe. I walk about 4 miles a day. I have extremely flat wide feet, so I ordered the wide and couldn't wait to get them. What a disappointment after walking around in them. At first I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my feet, my ankles hurt and the top of my foot (metatarsal area) ached. After discontinuing the shoe, my feet went back to normal. The shoe has really good arch support and I think that for my flat feet, it was just too much... I'm really disappointed because I love the look and they have a very flexible sole.

These are great shoes with one exception. The footbed is made with little bumps which seem to serve no purpose except to irritate the bottom of my feet. Otherwise the shoes are comfortable and really good looking.

Bought these as a replacement for my last pair of Chaco's - that I bought 10 years ago. The new webbing that forms the straps is soft and strong. The sole is pleasantly spongy and a little beefier than my last pair, an overall improvement. These are the best utilitarian sandals I have owned. I wear them all summer, especially in the rain and for light summer hiking. I have very narrow feet and can't stand to have anything between my toes. These are amazingly comfortable with built in arch support and adjustable straps.

LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes. I thought they would look gruff and manly. They don't. Comfortable. Cunning strap adjustment (read the box first!). Bought a size bigger and they're fine, but I think they're probably true to size.

I have narrow and thin feet and these fit perfectly, with the exception of the straps being too long, but I can cut them off. They also look really nice and are very comfortable.

These are great! If you need serious arch support, these provide it.I have tried a lot of sandals and had to ditch them because they aggravate plantar fasciitis. These make it possible to enjoy the sandal weather. I followed the advice of others and went with 8 wide when I would usually wear 8.5 medium. The 8 wide fits well. So, with the sizing feedback take this into consideration. If you have a narrow foot, your regular size may be fine. I also like my sandals to extend beyond my foot to reduce abrasion.

These are my second pair of Chaco's! I love them! These are great shoes for theme parks especially since they can get wet, are super durable and they won't fall off on roller coasters. I also love these for summer hiking in the mountains!

Great shoe for arch support, pronation control, flat feet, and big toe comfort. I have arthritis in the big toe and need a wide toe box, rocker capability, and good support. This is accomplished on all my needs with the design of this sandal. Thank you Zappos for fast delivery, great video description, and having my 9 wide in stock.

These sandals are super comfortable! Love them. I have bunions and high arches and these are great because the strap is above the bunion, so there is no chafing and the arch support is superb. I only had to adjust it once and to get in and out of them are a snap. Take a look at the videos on the Chaco website or on YouTube to learn how to adjust the straps. I usually wear a 71/2, but when there are only whole sizes I usually go with an 8. I wear a 38 in Birkenstock. But in these sandals the 8 was too big — too much room at the front and the strap at the heel was loose no matter how much I tried to tighten them. Those who say that the straps at the heel are too loose might have gotten a size too big for them. Oh, and while they are not super cute, they are not ugly, either. These sandals, with the Unaweep sole made of vibram, are made for people who want to venture and need good traction on slippery conditions. They will dry quickly, too.

I was introduced to Chaco's several years ago, and since then I have enjoyed them in a rainbow of colors. I traveled to Turkey and Greece earlier this month and wanted a shoe that would give me trackion on hiking mountain paths, as well as the ability to pass through the surf of the Adriatic Sea without taking my shoes off. Once you figure out the strap adjustments, Chacos give you great arch support and a perfect fit everytime.

I bought these my second year in College and they are still going strong. Come on Chacos I get it already...you make a great shoe that held up 14 years but really I have no excuse to buy a new pair of sandals. Ugh...that's a long time without new sandals. I mean I dated, got married, went to Peace Corps, just put my first child in kindergarten - just die already Chacos. I bought them in black so of course they still look brand new. I mean I thought I was buying a sandal that would last 10 years but these will easily get passed on to my children when they leave for college. I'm in it for a lifetime with no excuse to buy new sandal. Not cool Chacos!

Once again Zappos has totally impressed me! I find words inadequate to express my gratitude for a company that works as well as Zappos. Being in Customer Service (at Boeing Airplanes) I deal with hard to please customers all the time. And yet, I never have had any concern about Zappos ability to deliver to me a quality product in an amazingly short time. It's almost unbelievable how fast they can get a product to me...and I live way off the beaten path and any other delivery of anything takes extra days...but not with Zappos! I am way beyond satisfied. Thank you so much for all you do to make things work so smoothly. I will continue to buy from Zappos primarily because I can count on things to happen efficiently and it is so easy. Thank you!

This Chaco is a great all-around walking shoe for warm weather. The adjustable strapping is easy to use for a custom fit.

I love this shoe. I had my last pair of similarly designed Chacos for about 18 years and finally the soles gave out. I got this pair to replace them and they feel great - just like my old pair. Great in water, trails, camping, and around town. Comfortable and the best part - no Velcro to give out!

I would rate these sandals higher than 5 stars if that were possible. They are both simple and sturdy. Great arch support. Provide nice alignment for knees and back too. But not too bulky which is important because I can't wear flip flops any more. One bit of advice: don't throw out the box because the directions to tighten or loosen the straps are inside the cover.

Love these shoes! I teach on concrete floors all day but wouldn't know it when I wear these! This was my third pair!

These shoes are the greatest! I have been wearing this model of Chacos almost exclusively since 2005. After having plantar fascitis with terrible heel pain, these shoes were the cure. I can walk comfortably for miles. I can't say enough good things about them.

These are excellent sandals: well-designed, sturdy, comfortable, durable, with a simple, clean look. This is my third pair of the Chaco Z/1 Unaweep -- they are so good that I don't want any other sandal! Wearing them out took thousands of hours of wear, often in tough (wet, muddy) conditions. Single adjustable strap design is great. Plan to wash and scrub footbed periodically for odor control. I usually wear 8.5, but 8.0 Wide was what I needed for the correct arch in this sandal.

This is my second pair. I want to give five thumbs up for the arch support. After suffering through plantar fasciitis, and even having surgery, I had almost given up on finding sandals in my size with arch support. I tried the Chacos after talking to customer service. And it is just too hot in the summer for closed in shoes.

LOVE my Chacos! They have been comfy from the first wearing. Made a final tweak on the strap after a couple wearings and they have been perfect since. Looked at them on recommendation of my daughter. Other reviews about comfort and how long they last helped me decide to spent money on what is basically strapping and a flexible footbed. And yes, they are worth the price.

I live in these sandals all Spring, Summer and most of the fall. They are very comfortable and last me longer than any other sandal. I live on a farm so they have to be sturdy.

I love these shoes! I bought them based on everyone's reviews and they were right! I have flat feet and sandals are so hard to wear without orthotics. The support is great, no breaking in time, no blisters or rubbing from the straps. Love the Vibram sole. I recently wore these on my vacation to the islands and they were great for all the walking etc. really good arch support and the heel cup provides added support. It's nice the straps are adjustable as summer means swelling (sometimes). They are worth the cost. I'm getting another pair!

These are the most comfortable sandals I've ever worn for everyday and are pretty enough for I've recently bought my second pair of Chaco sandals. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn & pretty enough for church on Sunday.

This is the last sport sandal you'll ever need. That said, it might take a couple of days for the two of you to come to an understanding. The straps take a few wears to get the fit right, but once done, the fit is beautiful. For those tenderfeet out there, the textured footbed might take some getting used to, but it is exceptionally comfortable once you do. After a long day on my feet at work, these sandals are the first thing I put on after my work shoes come off. From mid-march to early november, these are my footwear of choice.

I ordered this shoe along with 6 others because I did not know which size or style would be right. I had a pair of Chacos before and loved them but someone who walked by my porch loved them as well. I knew I needed substantial and supportive walking shoes and these fit the bill. They are also quite faltering to the foot. I usually wear an 8 1/2 these are an 8.
