Best sandals -
These are my husband's favorite sandals ever--he wears them every day he can (i.e. except during snowstorms or to formal events).

For Those of Us with Wide and Sweaty Feet, Here Is Our Sandal -
I am cursed with flat and wide feet that are perhaps a little sweatier than the average man’s. I have been searching high and low for a sandal that would accommodate me, and after reading some of the praises for the other Chaco sandals, I decided to pony up the $90 for the wide Z/1 Unaweep. I have not been disappointed. These sandals have turned out to be the best thing I have ever purchased for my feet. The straps are easily manipulated for a comfortable custom fit and when my feet do sweat, they don’t stink. Whatever magical anti-bacterial voodoo they have treated this sandal with really works. It took a couple of days to break them in properly, the first day being the only painful one. I will make sure my next pair of sandals are Chaco’s and that I buy them from Zappos.

Great Sandal -
This is the third pair of Chaco's I’ve bought over the last 5 years, and it is my favorite. I usually buy the toe loop model, and wanted to try something new. These shoes are comfortable, provide great support, and are extremely durable. I wore out the first pair island hoping, and beach combing.
Chaco's unparallel service keeps me returning pair after pair. I buy almost exclusively from Zappos. Keep up the good work.

Sweet -
I really like um. Very comfy and look good also. The only problem I had is they hurt my feet quite a bit more than other pairs when I was breaking them in. Great for hiking rivers and other amphibious activities

Chaco Z/1 -
EUREKA!!! After coming down with a bad case of Plantar Fasciitis I did a lot of researching and testing out(New Balance, Birkentock, Crocs, Mephisto and MBTs). Chaco Z/1 shoes are Z-best for my feet. They are very supportive, built to last, comfy, airy etc. A bit heavy on the scale but provide a smooth walk out of the box. They felt a half size larger and true to width. The wide version does seem more supportive. So, if you have a wide foot(2E or more) go with the wide ones, no doubt. The strap system is not as challenging as some claimed, taking only a few tries to master. Also instructions on that are found on the box.

Best sandals in the world -
Every month I traverse more than 20 cities and travel over 4,000 kilometers through four different countries. I have been wearing my Chaco sandals EVERY DAY for the past two years. It is just now time to buy a new pair and I'd say I got my moneys worth. The only downside is the fraying at the front strap if you don't clear the sand out, but I've only replaced the straps once. Really Chaco’s are the best sandals out there!!! Buy a pair you won't regret it.

Greatest sandal ever?
Yes! These are the greatest sandals ever. I had gone through several pairs of Tevas (solid, but ultimately disappointing), and a pair of Merrell's (super durable w/ great soles that gave me constant blisters). After avoiding the Chaco’s for years because I was intimidated by the strap system, I finally dove in.
It only took me about two days to get the strap configuration down. I didn't wear anything else the rest of the summer. I got a pair for my wife and she didn't take them off either. We went backpacking through Central America, and though we brought hiking boots, we never used them. Chaco’s took us through towns, ruins, up mountains and volcano’s, and through rain forests. They blew away the Tevas (which I always bought as a second back-up pair). You won't need a back-up for these. Plus, they are far more comfortable. The ridged design on the footbed also seems to help sweat evaporate very quickly. I love this sandal!
Oops, almost forgot. Great arch support.

Loved the shoe. Size was perfect. Received many compliments on the look. Purchased them to go on a desert/water holiday and think they will work out fine. (My only other shoes are Birkies).

Great sandal -
I just bought these today. I tried the ones with the toe loop but found them too difficult to put on, so that's why I chose these.

Zappos rocks. Buy your shoes here forever. I bought the Chaco Z/1's after a bunch of friends recommended them over the Z/2's with the toe strap. This was my first pair of Chaco's. The only problem I have with them is that the forward strap rubs against the top of my big toe both shoes (and even broke the skin). So, be prepared to man up and break them in, or wear a band-aid or something. After the strap gets worn, the problem goes away, and it's worth the wait.

Chaco Unaweep Z/1 Sandals fit small by one size. My feet measure as a Size 14D (actually 13 3/4). I have a high arch and instep. I ordered Size 15, and find them barely long enough. There is just enough webbing to get my feet in without socks. I wear heavy woolen socks with my sandals when indoors during the colder seasons, but will not be able to do so with these. My great toes are not well supported at the outside edges. Length is not enough to provide good protection from bumping the great toes in rough terrain. Okay for groomed trails. Support and protection of the great toes would be improved by reshaping the front arc to be broader on the inside of the foot. A very comfortable foot bed. Very good arch support. Very good heel capture. Very good impact cushioning. Very good resistance to deforming under pressure, as when stepping on a pebble. Feels very secure on the foot. No chafing or discomfort, but developing callouses around the heel. Weight is absolutely not an issue. Overall, these are of excellent construction. Sizing label is inaccurate. Value is excellent, if you value your feet. My score: 4.5 out of 5. Points lost only for misleading sizing label and a too small range for adjustment of the strap. This was my first time ordering from Zappos. I could not find Chacos in my size from any other vendor in Canada, and I looked hard. Well worth the extra cost in shipping for me. Delivery was quick and to the door. Delivering Happiness, indeed. Good for you, Zappos. You do deliver the goods.

Very firm foot-bed is quite stable. Replaced a pair of Z/2 sandals which had a toe loop which I found very uncomfortable. The Z/1 fit far more comfortably on my feet. Easy to adjust.

These are very expensive but very sturdy sandals. The Vibram soles and softer insole make them very comfortable to wear on any terrain. The wide width is a bonus. \r\nThe unitary strapping takes some getting used to, but works well once you get it adjusted.

I bought these for my son, and he\'s picky about shoes. He likes these, and wears them, which wouldn\'t happen if they weren\'t easy on his feet. \r\n\r\nWe went canoeing, and he said they worked great for getting in and out of the river.

Comfortable right away but the texture on the foot bed takes a little getting used to. Great for walking/hiking.

Awesome arch and metatarsal support. The sculpted heel is very rigid, which I'm not accustomed to, but is apparently intended to prevent pronation. I prefer the more neutral heel of the flips. As a guy, I thought the cactus color scheme was sufficiently masculine.

Great sandal, but a little on the heavy side -
This is my second pair of Chacos. First pair I had resoled after 3 years of wear. They were a size 10 and my new ones are a size 11. Sizing seems to run a little smaller now. Chaco is a great company and thankfully these are made in USA. My only complaint is the sole type. I like to bike in my sandals, but these are pretty heavy and the soles are a little too aggressive. My first pair had soles made by Vibram, which these are too, but they were smoother without all the excessive tread.

First Chacos -
My first Chaco purchase. Slightly awkward getting them on and off because of the web strapping system, but overall very pleased.

Comfy -
I bought these shoes for DH and DS (12). DH loves them. He wears them whenever he can and says they are the comfiest shoes he has worn (and he is a Keen guy). DS has a wide foot normally- so I ordered the wide version- in retrospect I should have ordered the regular width I think. These shoes are wide to begin with. The only issue would be the lack of a front adjustable strap- although I think that makes them more comfortable.

Good sturdy sandal.
I have tried the new Teva sandals, but don't really like them (my last Tevas lasted almost 10 years). I recommend Chaco’s, but if you wear a half size and want a close fitting summer sandal, order a size down. I wear a Nike 12 (I am probably between an 11 1/2 and a 12), and the Chaco 11 is perfect for a nice fit.

Happy Father's Day present -
Bought these for my husband for Father's Day. He loves them! Extremely comfortable. Takes a little getting use to the arch - - usually these types of shoes have no arch or support that what makes these great. Having the option of selecting a wide width was extremely important.
My husband is usually an 11 1/2, ordered an 11 and they just fit, 12 would have been huge.

Chaco Z1/1 Unaweep -
Nice blue color. He likes the durability, able to wear in water. Just a little too chunky/heavy sole. Will be used more for beach/water, not as much for hiking. Sole looks like hiking boot.

I have a narrow 10.5 size foot. the 10 is almost too short on length and the 11 does not give me enough extra cord (?) to pull the shoe tight. I am also a little disappointed in the feel of the sandal, it does feel supportive, but my feet hurt by the end of the day, especially on the sides on the heel. I would imagine someone with a wider foot would hurt more. They really need a half size.

Not for me -
I tried to like these but the comfort over time just wasn't there. In a men's 8, I guess my feet are wide, but the back strap support was right under my heel and the right foot front strap didn't hit my toe/foot in the right place. Ended up returning them.
