Exceptional Sandal for Lots of Walking -
This sandal is, hands down, the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I'm in my 50s, have "bad" feet (bunions, calluses, hammertoes -- and can't wear any kind of a heel without the ball of my foot burning; my feet are always sore and hurting), and have difficulty comfortably wearing any shoe (good running-walking shoes included). This sandal fits like a dream. I ordered one size larger than normal - the 41 (Euro), which says 10-10.5 and I wear a 9.5 normally. I walked, easily, five miles a day throughout Germany this summer with almost no discomfort. Excellent shock absorption, comfortable straps, great arch support. Highly recommended! Now I wish there were a comparable shoe for winter wear ;) ...

I bought these sandals in desperation after breaking my foot twice in six months and having a Baltic tour looming. These were fantastic on cobblestone streets and still going strong a year later. These accommodated my wide toe and narrow heel. Love them!

Narrow. Unfortunately these, although being my size, are too narrow. My foot aches and nmy toes hurt after being cooped up in them. The foot bed is too narrow and also the strap is not adjustable as it looks in the picture. It has a solid elastic neoprene style strap with an adjustable strap over the top of that but this doesn't allow you to open the width across the toes. Even if I cut the strap open the footbed is still too narrow. The ankle strap also doesn't seem to fit the shape of my foot and sort of digs in across the lower edge unless I have it very loose. All in all just not comfortable. I have ordered some Teva's instead despite trying with these determindly for 2 weeks. I expected more from such a costly and good brand named shoe and have not had these types of problems with other footwear so I don't think it's my feet! People do comment that they look strong although no one called them pretty!

Best shoes ever! This is my second pair because I love them so much. I bought my first pair about 4 years ago and wore them almost every day in the warm weather seasons. They felt like nothing was on my feet. I wore them in ocean, on hikes through streams, for physical therapy (Dr. approved), etc. They continued to look brand new. The only way I can tell my new pair apart from by old is the sole of the shoe. After several years, they began to loose their support. I tried several other expensive brands like Keen, Ugg, and Dansko--nothing compared. I've never done this in my life, but I bought exactly the same pair I had before. Another plus is that I have a wide foot and the front adjust to give me the perfect fit. Truly, I've never owned a better pair of shoes. Worth every penny!

Being lazy, I didn't find sandals to take to St Barts until the week before we left. Stupid, I know. I bought these at a mall store, it was the only place I could find sandals in November. They were awesome! Great for hiking, walking on the beach, walking the cobblestone streets. It was weird that when they got wet, and they did a lot because there was torrential rain, one turned dark brown and the other stayed light brown. They do take a day or so to fully dry, they aren't meant to be worn in or really near water. Very comfortable, I did need to wear a bandaid on my left foot under the top strap the first day or two, it quickly wore in and got better. It's adjustable multiple ways for max comfort. Great shoe. It's a little ugly, but I expect that with a more utilitarian shoe.

I was looking for a shoe or walking sandal that could be put on and fastened with one hand while I recover from shoulder surgery. I ordered about 4 different shoes that have velcro straps and this shoe was the most comfortable and durable. I returned the others (one was a Wolky sandal, and while it was extremely comfortable, I wanted something a bit more durable...it was a difficult decision!)
I usually wear a women's size 9, medium width (my largest foot measures exactly 10 inches in length), and the size 40 in this Ecco sandal was a perfect fit for my longer foot. My smaller foot, with a mild bunion, is about a size 8 1/2, so there is about 1/2 inch of extra space on the sandal sole in front of my big toe on my smaller left foot, but the extra shoe length doesn't cause a problem for me. (Note: Because I wear a women's size 10 in Brooks running shoes, and have purchased Brooks through Zappos, the Zappos recommended size for this shoe was 41 (size 10), which would have been much too large!)
The leather straps are lined with a soft, smooth, padded synthetic material, so there are no rough or uncomfortable buckles or seams touching my bare foot. The straps are not irritating, and the durable soles provide stability for walking. The strap across the front of the sandal does not offer as much flexibility in adjustment because the slightly elastic lining under the strap is continuous across the foot, so the strap can be tightened a little, but it doesn't get much looser (I hope this doesn't cause a fit problem in the future). The first time I tried on the sandal, the morning was cool and foggy, my feet were cold, and the sandal fit more loosely. The next day was sunny and warmer and my feet were a bit larger, so the sandal fit a bit more snugly, especially across the toe area. The straps across the instep and at the heel both offer more adjustment than the strap across the toes.
I ordered the blue color and like it a lot. While I haven't yet worn these sandals out of the house on a walk, they were so comfy around the house that I decided to keep them!
I really needed a comfortable and durable walking shoe that wasn't too ugly and could be put on with one hand. This sandal fit my needs. (I also wear, and really love Olukai K?lapa Kai sandals.)

Good walking sandal -
I have owned many Eccos and they are the one shoe I can count on that is true to size and width. I have a wide foot and the Ecco shoes and sandals in medium are very comfortable for me - which means they probably run a bit wider than most mediums.

I purchased my first pair of Yucatan Sandals in 2009 for a trip to New Zealand. The factor that most influenced my purchase was a review that said the sandals did not need to be broken-in. That review was 100% correct. So, when we planned a trip to Italy, with a lot of walking expected, I purchased a second pair in brown. I took both pairs to Italy and alternated each day. My feet were very thankful. These are double what I normally pay for sandals, but well worth it!

Comfortable right out of the box. I usually have to wear shoes around inside the house several times to figure out if they are going to be really comfortable, but these were perfect from the first wearing. I like that there are several places the straps can be adjusted (e.g. at the heel as I have a wide forefoot and narrow heel).

I am a size 8 and narrow foot. I found that if I order a slightly smaller size -38- it fits perfectly. Great sandal for powerwalking or just hanging around. The bumpy inside took a day to get used to but is really delightful on my feet now. They feel like they are getting a massage with every step.

Great travel shoe -
I bought this shoe (tan with green accent) for a trip to China. I was hoping to find the dark brown, but it was sold out. This turned out to be a blessing...the lighter brown is more feminine, and went with all my casual clothes! I ended up wearing this shoe day in and day out because it was sooooooo comfortable. I especially like that it is adjustable behind the heel as well as at the ankle and the ball of the foot. My feet are not the same exact length or width, and I appreciate being able to make the necessary adjustments so that each foot feels "just right". There is only one problem. The insole is made of a synthetic material that absorbs or transfers moisture...which is a good thing if you are working up a sweat. However, in my case, the material tended to dry out the skin on my feet. Over several days I developed some sensitivity on the side of my big toes and the back of the heels because of the dry skin. I needed to lather on the moisturizer at night and again in the morning. This hasn't been a problem when I'm not traveling, since I only wear them a few times a month, and never 2 days in a row.

I bought the same Ecco sandal two years ago in multi color. These go perfectly with a light blue purse I have! They are not your sexy sandal, but sometimes our feet need to just feel good on the move.

This is my fifth pair of these sandals, so it is obvious I think they are great. They can be worn for walking all day with as much comfort as an athletic shoe. If there is any down side, it is that the straps do not tighten quite as much as I would like...particularly around the ankle. All in all, though, they are wonderful shoes.

I bought a pair of these sandals last spring, at my local shoe store. I have walked hundreds of miles in them, in total comfort. They are incredibly light weight, yet sturdy. The leather is supple and pliable. The foot bed is soft, yet supportive. They give good traction; I can actually run in them if necessary. They are not unattractive, but I definitely have prettier, more feminine sandals in my closet. That being said, I reach for these daily when I want to walk long distance and be comfortable, and have sure footing on any kind of surface. I initially purchased the Iridescent pair, and they have held up marvelously. I like them so much that I came on to Zappos to purchase more. Whether it is to accommodate a wider foot, or just a pattern change, they are different. The comfort of the footbed is the same, but the front foot strap is angled differently. There is a buckled look on inner portion of the outside strap, which makes the shoe look sloppy. I would really like a pair that are cut the same way as the ones I have. I have attached photos. The “Iridescent” (black) pair are the ones I bought last year, the “Nude/Marine” and “Aubergine/Mauve” are the buckled ones. See the area just inside the top left corner of outer strap, where it meets the toe strap. For sure the “Nude/Marine” ones are going back, the “Aubergine/Mauve” aren’t quite as bad but still not quite right.

I have very wide feet with narrow heels but thought I could make this work because of the Velcro straps. I took it to a repair shop to have part of the piece over the toe area cut out and an inch added to the Velcro $25)- I knew about the unforgiving (for wide feet) piece under the Velcro from another review. The finished sandals are fine but if this had come in a wide width, it would fit better. If I put mole skin under the toe strap, it's comfortable. I know it sounds crazy to go to such lengths to try an expensive experiment but I have such difficulty finding footwear that fits and is comfortable, that it was worth trying. What attracted me were the three Velcro straps which turned out to be very helpful. This is on the wide side for a medium width.

Great walking shoe - walk all day at the zoo without foot pain -
I literally tried on $2000.00 worth of shoes before finding this one. My only complaint is that the strap across the ankle needs a little more adjustment. When I tighten the strap to feel slightly snug, the neoprene lining overlaps and creates a pressure point on the bony top of my foot. I have to wear the strap loose to prevent this, which makes the shoe feel a little floppy. I still liked it enough to order a pair in another color.

This purchase was a huge disappointment. My ECCO Yucatan Sandals, my third pair, arrived a day before we were leaving for a two-week vacation. No chance to try them on, but why would I? These were my third pair. This was a huge and costly mistake on my part. Ecco changed the cut of these sandals. Upon our return, I traced an outline on paper around these and my old Yucatans. My newest pair of Yucatan sandals are 1/4" shorter and a 1/4" more narrow than my old pair. The considerably more narrow width would explain my excruciating foot pain. To add insult to injury, despite ECCO's promised "odor reduction", these sandals still make your feet smell foul! You know the stink is bad, when the person sitting across from you at the table complains about the smell!

This is my second pair of these sandals. I have problems with my feet and I can wear these without my inserts. I walk all over with no problems, so even if they are expensive, they are one of the only sandals that I can wear.

Bought the Ecco Yucatan sandals due to the rave reviews. Super comfortable right out of the box. Am a standard 9.5. Borderline wide. It depends on the shoe. Had a pair of Ecco sneakers that were just a bit too short in the 40 so I got these in 41. Several reviews recommended going up a 1/2 size. Glad I did. The front of the shoe is about 1/4" beyond my toe. The heel fits perfectly. Medium is plenty wide enough for me. The adjustable velcro straps make my high instep a non-issue. The foot bed is extremely comfortable. Not too hard nor too cushy. A very good walking sandal for anyone who needs stable support. The Light Gold is pretty, not flashy. Not a fashion shoe but your back, knees and legs will thank you.
