Great inserts! While I can get them into all of my shoes, they do change the fit of my flats (which need an insert) so that the shoe is too full. If you have bunions, this may bother you -- and I recommend getting shorter, flatter inserts (like the gel version by Orthaheel; not as supportive, but they work with everything). This is something I've run into with most inserts, though. I would recommend these over Superfeet and have done well with them in covered shoes like oxfords, etc. It's possible to wear them without socks/nylons, but there is a bit of a rub. Another reviewer recommended wearing them beneath the insoles of your shoe. I tried this, but worried that over time, the original insole would be damaged because of the difference in shape; I think they work fine on top. The only thing is that they are smooth, so your foot might slide a bit if bare.

These are great! Another review really caught my eye - the customer said this fit better than any number of custom-made orthotics over the years. That really rang a bell with me because my custom orthotics and running-store fitted shoes did not work fully well for me. (They made my feet feel good, but my hips were always tightening up, which hurt my arthritis.) I was really torn about going through that process again. My feet got very tired going without, however. I got these and my feet do not get tired anymore! And as I can put them in a flatter shoe, my alignment is better now and I'm not having the other pain issues. From experience, these are 1,000 times better than the drugstore brands. If you need good arch support (and you know who you are if you need it), I think it's a fairly small investment to try them out, especially with the return policy. Finally, I have a narrow foot and the narrow width is very comfortable to me. Enjoy!

I would recommend the arch support by Birkenstock. Although a little expensive they last a long time and I wear mine every day.

Love these. I needed something that would fit in my flats for work. They fit well all my flats and provide great support. It's really helped ease foot pain.

I own several types of insoles. The Birks are much like my orthotics except. Slightly wider. As others have mentioned. The upward lip towards the front of foot is uncomfortable in many of my shoes. Strangely enough, in a few of my sneakers it's comfy for 1/2 a day. Then I have to switch insoles.

I don't get all the glowing reviews. I guess you must love the way Birkenstocks fit to like this insole. The arch support was good and these initially felt promising, but Birkenstocks have this weird bump near the front of the footbed that gets pretty annoying after a while. I used to wear Birkenstocks all the time and don't remember them hurting my feet (granted, that was 15 years ago and before I developed plantar fasciitis). After 1 hour wearing these I couldn't wait to get rid of them. Made my feet ache for hours after wearing them.

I really wanted to use them in my flats, but they were too long, even though I ordered them in my size. They give great arch support, but my heels were slipping out of flats when I walked. They were also too stiff to be comfortable. Sent them back.

Absolutely amazing. The 3/4 length means that these supports fit in my Converse All-Stars -- which I dearly love but which have no arch support whatsoever and are too shallow in the toe box to allow a full-length insert. Note that these are not soft inserts; they are hard, like the footbed of a Birkenstock shoe. That might sound uncomfortable, but it's never bothered me at all (possibly because I have and love a couple pairs of Birks already); I'd rather have real arch support than a soft footbed.

These inserts have changed my life! (Okay, my wardrobe at least.) Before I found these, I thought I'd have to give up on cute flats forever, and be doomed to wear clunkier, more supportive shoes with my skinny jeans and cute work outfits. Now I can wear all the ballet flats I'd pushed to the back of the closet, and even stand in them all day long without foot pain the next day, or an aggravated knee. They also stay in place while walking, and don't need to be velcro-ed down to the soles of my shoes. While I haven't found a pair of flats they don't fit into, they are a bit wide, which means I can sometimes see the blue peeking out from below my narrow feet, so it would be great if these came in a neutral color, but that's a small price to pay for comfort and wardrobe options!

These have proven a superb investment; I can insert them easily (and quickly) in almost any pair of shoes with a back for increased support and comfort. I don't wear orthotics, but do walk a lot -- daily & my arches are low. These are fab!

The quality construction and material I expect from Birkenstock is here, but this is not at all like the contour of the sandals we all know and love. There is no arch support, this is basically just a "tub" for your foot.

I am returning these. Initially they felt good, but if you prefer full length insoles these will bug you. They just were not the right shape for my foot.

Love, love, love this product. I have had a problem with heel spurs in the past. Nothing helped. Went through Cortisone shots, and even considered surgery. Then a savvy Podiatrist recommended I stop all the other stuff and get a pair of these inserts for my sneakers. He warned me they would be uncomfortable for a while until they molded to my feet, but would over a short amount of time relieve the problem of the heel spurs. In 3 months the problem was gone and I have been using them since. (At least 10 years.) No more problems with heel spurs. Hurray! I jumped for joy when I saw that Zappos had them for sale. I moved to a new town and could no longer find a local source for them.

Yeah! Support in my cheap cute shoes now! I switch these inserts to whatever shoe catches my fancy and have the great Birkenstock support from my non-Birkenstock shoes.

Love these too! I use them for every shoe, Toms, Vans, oxford flats, boots even my Cole Haan flats. Great if I am going for long(ish) walks/treks like around the Las Vegas Strip, Disneyland, San Fran etc and I want to look stylish for the photos. I am a young female and I refuse to wear ugly shoes so these help out tremendously! Im never going back to being uncomfortable. I have ankle instability and flat feet, this coupled with my physical therapy has worked wonders. Every shoe feels great. If you want to wear a stylish shoe though make sure it either expands to shove these in there or get a bigger size. I don't have to sacrifice comfort for fashion. Can have my cake and eat it too!

Recommended by my podiatrist for joint pain in my metatarsal area. They are saving my foot. Since they only come in full sizes, I had one ground down at a local shop and more it fits perfectly. Had my first pair for about 9 months and still supports.

Expensive, but worth it. I don't use them in all my shoes, but well worth the cost for the shoes that lack arch support. They do take a bit to get used to and I would not recommend wearing them two days in a row the first week. Also, I would wear socks with them as when I tried to bare foot with these in my loafers the edge of the arch support pinched my sole under the arch when I walked. Don't know if that is just a wear in issue as I switched to wearing footsie socks ever since.

I had painful plantar fasciitis which was getting worse. I was fitted for these in a Birky shop, and soon my pain was gone. At first I wore them in Rockport shoes, taking out the normal insert. That worked, but now I wear them in my Allen Edmond shoes. I wear them in everything, including running shoes. They last absolutely forever-- hard to imagine anything better~!

These Arch Supports allow me to walk and dance without pain. I do a lot of dancing and I had an injury recently. I thought I'd never be able to walk or dance without pain again, but thanks to Birkenstock and this great product, I now have no problems. I highly recommend these! I wear them daily.

I started working after a five year break to stay home with my son. My job consists of standing up to eight hours at a time, on concrete. After my first full week back, I almost could not walk because my feet and back hurt so badly when I was done working. I went to a local shoe store, where I was fitted with these arch supports. After a week of wearing them, I was virtually pain free when I went home at the end of the day. Two months later, I would not give these up for anything and would highly recommend them to anyone.

I have neuromas in both feet and these really take the pressure off. They fit inside most shoes, except heels and they are very sturdy. I just ordered my second pair after about 8 years wearing the 1st. Expensive, but worth it.

I love these. Most of my shoes and boots don't have any arch support, and these slip in, stay in place, and have relieved a lot of foot pain for me. You can't even see them when you're wearing ballet flats! I only have 1 set right now that I slip into whatever pair of shoes I'm wearing that day, but I am sure I'll purchase one or 2 more so I can have a better rotation.

What can one say about a foot bed? Stylish? Comfort? Color? Nah. Does it work? Yes! I have a long, narrow, flat foot, and have used these Birkenstock foot beds for years. They fit well in my dress shoes when used alone or in my casual shoes when put under the OEM insoles. They do not, however, provide ‘shock’ absorption and no underfoot padding, so I used them in those shoes where there is room to put these underneath the existing insole (hiking boots are a good example), or in high end dress shoes with no removable insole. They wear well and I've had several pairs for years and years. The nice thing is Zappos carries them in widths - a very good thing for someone with a narrow foot like mine.

I have been using these footpads for 20 years and have them in all my shoes, boots, and sneakers. They give me the arch support I need. They dry out quickly if they get wet. They maintain their shape (critical given their function). They are light and retain no odor. They are worth their weight in gold, almost.
