Over the past 12 years, I have alternated between two of these wallets in two different beautiful color combinations. I have not used anything else until I got my third Audrey French Purse last month in another color combination/slightly different style. Yes, the removable ID holder/mini credit card stash has changed position, but this is actually a tiny improvement, as it is now in the center fold of the wallet rather than the outside section, so it is more secure. I love that little removable feature, as I walk/shop in my neighborhood and it's just so nice to pull out that little ID compartment to stash in my pocket. It holds ID/two credit cards, and my medical card, just in case. The rest of the wallet holds a moderate amount of additional cards, cash, & coins in a relatively small, yet highly organized and stylish package. The leather quality/sturdiness, and color choices are always top notch. While I feel the new ID position is actually a small improvement, I would continue buying this wallet without the update, and I will probably never use anything else in my life, as long as they keep making it. I was worried, after I purchased my first one, that the design might be discontinued, so I bought my second one a year later and have used them both on a 50/50 rotation for, as I said, 12 years. Except for a slight loosening of credit card slots, they are as perfect and gorgeous as they were brand new. I take them for granted now, but this wallet is a wonderful addition to my rotation. Few things in life are quite so perfect.

The main reason I love this wallet is the slit on the back side. I keep just one credit card in this space which is the one that I always use. I never even have to open up the wallet. This allows me to just reach in my purse and pull out the card easily! So simple but very helpful!

The perfect size and love the color

This is actually an update to my previous review, dated 8/26/2013. I am in the process of switching between my two wallets again, after having these beautiful and functional Audrey French Purses for now some 16 years. Colors have not faded, seams have remained absolutely solid, wallets look and still feel amazing, after all these years of every-day use! For those who complain that it is too small, see my photo. I carry my license, work ID, 3 different medical cards (vision/dental/everything else), 3 credit cards, AAA card, baseball schedule, library card, Costco card, transportation tickets, old photos, random receipts, as well as a wad of cash, a handful of change, and any number of business cards!I couldn't believe it when I emptied it out to switch over from my tan/red wallet to my brown/teal one! I found an expired work ID, receipts from 5/6 years ago... everything fits! Of course, if you want a wallet that holds a checkbook and pen, Lodis has got you covered for that, but I just have never felt the need. Someday, when I'm retired and travelling, I'll get their passport wallet. For now, I'm good with my two "old" wallets, and I still have that third "new" one that I bought in 2013 that I only look at from time to time. It has not needed to make it into my rotation yet, so I continue to keep it as my ultimate backup should this wonderful company every stop making this absolutely perfect wallet. This is a really cute wallet but its a little small if you carry a lot of cards. Also the cards are a really snug fit. Overall a great minimalist wallet.

What a Great wallet! The size is perfect and holds everything I need and forces me to eliminate all the stuff I don't need to carry. The design is smart, the leather is delicious and feels so nice in my hand. I love the simple snap closure that somehow finds its way closed every time without my having to guide it.

too small for my needs, nice leather

This is a beautiful wallet! Love the convenience of being able to take the small license holder with me for quick trips. All the card slots face into the fold, so I don't have to worry about losing them when I am carrying the wallet. Wonderful quality and design. Very sophisticated look.

I am a major wallet freak -- i.e. I've spent good parts of my shopping life looking for the perfect wallet. I've found good ones, but never quite right. I have now found the wallet I would have made to order. Size, color, feel, convenience, room for everything but not too big. I love the removable license /credit credit card mini-holder. perfect for going through airports. I debating buying another one in case they stop making this one -- but why on earth would anyone stop making the perfect wallet?

Love this wallet. Compact, but holds a lot. Especially like the removable mini-wallet that holds a few credit cards and driver's license...great for the times when I don't want to carry a purse.

Great color combination. Wallet is perfect size...not too big, not too small. Easy to organize credit cards and cash slips in and out easily. Leather is sturdy and stiff and seems durable. Love this wallet!

This wallet is almost perfect. I love French wallets for their size and efficiency. This one has all of the features I need. Before I bought this, I read the reviews on Zappos.com. One review mentioned that the license container sometimes slips out. I was glad to read that because I am now more careful. The container has never slipped out, but I can see how it might. That's a very minor detail in an otherwise almost perfect product.

Quality wallet - I really like this wallet. Compact size, beautiful leather and color. I like the quality of this brand and expect it to last a long time.

They changed this wallet a little, liked the prior design - I have been buying this wallet, in different colors, for the past few years. I still love it more than any other wallet (hence the repeat purchases), especially the removable ID holder, but it opens up differently than it used to with the removable ID holder inside instead of on the flap. I liked it better the other way. It's a little awkward (hence the 4 star "comfort" rating) now.

This is the perfect French purse! Well made and makes me smile every time I reach for it...the colors are so happy!

Really lovely wallet - The leather is so soft, and when empty this "French purse" is almost weightless... which I love. It's more a wallet than a purse, and has beautiful leather throughout. Even a little separate section so if you want to remove your driver's license (for ID), it comes out in its own little leather holder. (Nice to show to a cop or a bartender?)

Great Wallet by Lodis - This is the first Lodis product that I have ever purchased, I am very pleased. Leather is high quality, color tone matched the photo, all the different compartments are fantastic to keep organized. Fits will in my smaller size purse too. As always, Zappos is the best for quality product and service.

Wallet - Very nice; as described

Cute wallet, nice color and leather but just way too small for me. If you only carry a couple of credit cards and ids, it should work for you, but once you add in medical cards, membership cards and a few more credit cards, you are out of space (and the slots are not loose enough to double up).

Great look! I got this in yellow and I love the look. It has a lot of pockets for credit cards, but the pockets are kind of loose. I find the credit cards/membership cards can easily fall out. All in all, I really do like it though.

Great wallet...for a lefty! This is my 4th Lodis wallet. They are great wallets, they look good and hold their shape for a long time, and made of wonderful leather. Unfortunately, this wallet seems to open backwards for me, which makes me think that it would be perfect for a left handed person. Also, just a tad too big for me.

Nicely made - I didn't realize that the inside color was more of a red than on the pink side, but I still like it. I've dropped it a couple times and worried about the leather, but it's pretty sturdy and not easily scuffed. I love that there's a pocket on the back for easy access to my train pass. I also like the 2 options of grommet closures in case you have more stuffed into the wallet. Comes with a picture insert with several pages too.

Beautiful quality smooth leather that looks very durable and well made. I just found the removable ID card case to be awkward for me. I would have preferred a “fixed” slot/s. Returned.

I love this wallet...except the credit card slots are too small and will most likely tear with use, so I am returning it.
