I bought these boots for motorcycle riding and that alone. But they have been so comfortable, with such high quality look and feel and construction, that I now find myself wearing them around town as well (and I usually wear sandals and slip-ons the majority of the time that I am not riding here in SoCal). They look great with jeans. These are some of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn, and the quality is obvious. Fryes are worth the extra money, in my opinion. I have had other riding buddies who have had these boots and wore them for ten years and more, taking proper care of them. I wore my last pair of Georgia steel toes for riding for over 10 years, so I hope to get that kind of use from these. They certainly look and feel like they're up for that long of a ride! These are thick leather boots, so they do require some break in. Just the same, I wore these for more than 8 hours some days, after just a few days of wearing them around the house for a couple/few hours a day on and off, for break in. Other than an initial hot spot or two, they were remarkably comfortable right out of the box and this has continued to improve over time. Now they are as comfortable as any shoes I own, or perhaps even more. They ran true to size for me, a 10.5. I have a quite a narrow heel, so I was concerned about pull on boots. My heel does move slightly in the boot when walking, but I have no discomfort or ill effect from it whatsoever, even when I am doing quite a bit of walking. On the bike, these boots are a dream. They sit on the pegs just perfect and feel balanced and effortless for shifting and braking. Paul in customer service (a former electrician who lives in boots) discussed sizing, construction, care, and break in with me for some time before I bought these. His suggestion for size was perfect and it was great to talk to someone who is so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He even placed my order for me at the end of the call. Zappos, you continue to be the best of the best in customer service and creating happy customers! This is another of many purchases I have made here. I shop around, but always wind up back here and have never regretted it. Thanks so much!

This is my second pair of Frye Boots. They are comfortable - look great and will probably last a lifetime. One thing to note after reading information on the Frye site - initially it felt as though my heel was pulling up inside the boot. This is normal until the boot breaks in - it was actually gone by the second day. I learned from my first pair that I am normally a size 11. Needed to purchase a size 10.5. I would recommend these boots to anyone looking for stylish boots.

Just received my second pair of Frye’s! I just bought the Gaucho color a week earlier and I had the same reaction, this boot is amazing, Comfort, Style simply cannot be beat. A little tight getting into depending on your sock you decide to wear, but I feel the boot is comfortable right out of the box and will be even better when broken in Great with Jeans and while riding the bike! Quality is top notch and you will be very happy, I was so pleased after I purchased the gaucho color; I felt I needed to have them in Black and I was right they are just perfect...
Zappos has been great, slight confusion with the pair they sent but they quickly exchanged them and I received the boots the following day! Zappos is a Wow company only delivering amazing customer service 1 click or phone call at a time. Now that I discovered Zappos I will never by shoes at a store again... Thanks Zappos!!

I would have given 5 stars all around but I would like to have more arch support for a boot in this price range. I normally wear an 11 in other shoes but I had to go down to a 10 in these. It was explained to me that they are sized slightly larger because most people wear thicker socks with them. I bought some arch supports to go in them and I wear them on stage with my band for 4 hours a night. Real, classic style and the finest quality materials without a doubt.

The best boots ever, however after the extremely helpful customer service people at Zappos sent me a second pair so I could do a side by side comparison I decided to go with a 1/2 size down and I am so glad I did! Zappos is the best ever internet retailer an if you are going to buy Fryes or anything else you should buy them from Zappos!

There is not a lot of padding in the insoles, so my husband is still breaking them in. He loves them. They look just right and feel pretty darn good. Service could not have been any better.

Great boots with great soles for the motorcycle. Other pairs of Frye's have more "fancy" soles, not really built for my use (trust me I returned a couple pairs). Great construction, great fit. Frye's are the best.

I recently purchased the Frye Harness 12R in "Earth"(my favorite) and in "Black"(for work). I cut off the harness on the black pair to dress them up a bit. Although the website is nice, the pictures do not show the true beauty of these boots. As for service, Zappos is 5 stars. Other companies should take heed of their shipping because nothing else compares. If you intend to add insoles to these boots I strongly recommend you to purchase a size larger because the insoles will cause major crowding. This is very important for someone on their feet 8 to 12 hours a day. Excellent boots. Excellent service. Thank you Zappos!

The first pair of these boots I ordered had problems with the heels falling off, I got the next pair ( Fast as always ) and wow these are a whole lot better quality, heels are on right and the boots still fit perfect and trust me they look a Whole lot better than the picture, great boots! Accept no substitute!
I normally wear a 10.5 but got 11 wide since they are a 'slip on' boot, plus a little more room for socks; during summer months I go sock-less and they feel great. I have only seen a few people rocking these so there is a bit of reaction from the public with these boots which has never happened to me with any other style of foot wear.
I would suggest not to go hiking in them as I did once last summer; my knees killed afterwards which is unusual for me.
I have had these for a year now and can say they are pretty comfortable and look great. I clean them once in a while with neatsfoot oil and that keeps 'em just fine.
If you can't take bad/hardcore vibes from people then these boots aren't for you since they are traditionally a bike's boot.

A little narrower than expected -
These Frye Boots are so awesome! They are very well made and look so retro cool. My husband has a wide foot, so I got him a WIDE pair that were a 1/2 size larger than his normal size...they are still a little too snug, but with thin socks will eventually be OK. If you have a high instep, they are a bit difficult to get on, but BOY IS IT WORTH THE TROUBLE!!!

Great boots, 1/2 size small.
I normally wear a size 12R, but the 11 1/2 W fits better than any other boot I have ever bought. It looks and feels great.
I had to do one exchange to get the right size, and this was fantastically easy. One phone call was all it took. In fact, Zappos sent the new boots 2nd day air before I sent the originals back.

The perfect harness boot -

No Doubt About It -
I had my eye on these boots for three months and when I finally got them I was more than satisfied! Although they could be a bit more comfortable if you have to stand in them for hours at a time, as far as boots go, they fit well and they look as good with a pair of slacks and a sport coat as they do with a pair of jeans. I love the history behind the Frye boot, and the retro stylings of these in particular (I've had several people say, "I had boots like that in the seventies!"), and everywhere I go people compliment the boots. The strap and harness really does a lot to give the boot character and has the added benefit of making the toe look smaller than it is, so people with larger feet (12+) should be able to wear the boot without it looking like a clown shoe. All in all, these are beautiful, well-made boots that get attention and get the job done as well.

Not just for guys!
I wear size 12 women's and the 10.5 was perfect. I was afraid that the toe would be too narrow and pinch the ball of my foot, but after a few wearings they conformed very nicely to my feet and now even accommodate my arch supports. I gave these 4 stars in comfort because there's zero arch support in them, but otherwise they're perfect. Tons of classic attitude without being too over-the-edge; they even look good with dress pants, if I polish them up and hide the harness a little.
