Well this is my first experience ever with Sperry's, or boat shoes in general. Honestly I am really rather disappointed with the shoe's design and overall feel as well. First off, the tongue, and top of the shoe itself, does not reach to the ankle like I thought it would. You know, like a normal tennis shoe would? So when worn with socks, the top of my foot, from the mid-foot to ankle was exposed and looks rather stupid if I am to be quite honest. On another note, I bought an 8 wide, and it fits rather narrow as well, although I think this is only an issue because the tongue stops mid-foot(the widest part of your foot) and ties there, rather than where most shoe tie at, being the end of the foot. So just some warnings to others that may be interested in this kind of shoe, but also unaware of the rather bizarre designs of this boat shoe. Going to have to re-sell these, just to recuperate some of the money I wasted on this.

Ordered 13 extra wide and recieved a shoe that's about 30% shorter in length than any of my other shoes!!! No joke it's like a 10 I can't even get it halfway into my foot. It's labeled as a men's 13 XW.... I don't get it.

I recently purchased a pair of original Sperry boat shoes in extra wide ... at least I thought I did. I've worn Sperry shoes for years and their extra-wide was very comfortable for those of us with extra wide width feet. Well ... the moment I put these shoes on my feet began to ache, clearly the company has changed the dimensions on their shoes, because there is NOTHING extra wide about their current sizing. Sorry, but that's the truth.

These shoes are nowhere near the quality of my old ones I still use. Stitching coming undone, sole is coming unglued, sock staining when new and the sole is cracking. My old pair and I mean old (maybe 15 years) have just worn through the sole but no other problems at all. The quality of Sperry has gone the path of many manufacturers, cheapen up so they are replaced more offen. Sorry Sperry I will be looking into other manufacturers.

This order reminded me as to why I have never owned a pair of Sperry shoes. Reviews indicated that these were true to size and width. Ordered the same size I have worn in every other brand of shoes for years. These were terribly undersized, even though they were marked correctly. Will be returning. Can't rate for comfort or quality as I haven't been able to experience them.

These Sperry original shoes had very stiff dark brown laces that looked out of place on the tan leather. The honey color sole is also now brown color which doesn't match the tan leather. I guess whatever 3rd world country is making Sperry shoes now doesn't understand the original color scheme! I returned the shoes. I've been wearing Sperry originals for 30 years and it wasn't until recently that the quality went down.

I've worn Sperrys for more than 40 years but it looks like that relationship may be coming to an end. There was a time that your deck shoes lasted so long I actually had several pair resoled but like with most things those days are gone. Just within the last decade I've watched as the construction of your shoes got chintzier and chintzier. The insoles got thinner and less substantial to where now you're lucky if the insole stays in the shoe more than a couple wearings. My brother wears your shoes too and he has noted the same things. On my current pair the insoles came unglued after the third wearing and shortly thereafter the sole on the right shoe actually split along one of the sipe cuts. I've worn some soles thin but NEVER had them split! These shoes probably have 90% of their life left and they are now useless! I hope you can glean some useful information from this review but for now I'm switching to Sebagos. They aren't as good as the Sperrys of old but they are WAY better than your current deck shoes.

I always buy Sperry's, but this time, the outsole broked and the shoe is new, I used for a month. The other Sperry's I have, I've been using for years, and never had this problem.

I have worn Sperry for 50 years. This pair is an enormous disappointment. I took my size requirement from my current pair. The new ones were not even close. They are at least one size to small and one width to narrow. Returned them right away.

The look and quality were both terrific. The fit from a size and width point of view weren't bad, but the shoe didn't seem to have enough depth, if this is the right terminology. My foot didn't seem to sit deeply enough within the shoe to feel comfortable. It felt as though it would fall off during normal wearing. I have several other style Sperry shoes, 3-eyelet Bullseye most recently, that are great and fit and feel perfect, so I assume the problem with this shoe is unique to the cut or style.

We ordered these shoes three years ago and were extremely satisfied. However the 'extra wide' size is no longer extra wide. We compared the soles and there was a noticeable difference. Notified company and check with quality control and manufacturers. Hope they come back with extra wide is a true extra wide.

Received mine on Saturday. Tried wearing them on Sunday to assure fit, etc. and wear them in a little. After a short time I noticed they were sewn incorrectly on the right shoe on the inside between the sole and the leather. I returned them on Monday. We'll see what happens. Very disappointed in the quality. This should have been caught by whoever inspected the shoe. If I understand correctly I must wait possibly as long as 3 weeks for a refund and then reorder. Very inconvenient.

Recently bought my first pair of Sperrys in a while. The first thing I learned is that Sperry doesn't make a Topsider anymore. Topsiders were the "prep" that allows Sperry to now say "prep for all"; you had to have authentic Topsiders, or you didn't bother. In any event, I loved Sperry and I needed another pair. What I got was a pair of brown made-in-Dominican-Republic-run-of-the-mill boat shoes with a Sperry logo. They are uncomfortable; they're not getting better; they scrape my heel, though they are the correct size; the soles wear out quickly; and they look worse for the very moderate wear like the "Authentic" Sperrys never did. Some may like the new Sperrys. I like the Sperrys I used to know, and these aren't them. I cannot recommend these shoes, especially at the inflated price.

Bought these Black Sperry's last year (2017) never worn till this year. I have worn these shoes mostly around the house, worn them out only twice and they are falling apart at the seams. I have always have owned a pair of Sperry's and have never had problems with them like this pair. I guess the workmanship is getting worse. I tried to upload a photo but it says that was an error. Tried several times keeps happening.

I'm 56 years old and have for most of my life owned one and usually several pairs of topsiders at any given time. I've always just expected quality because it's always been there. Not this time. I bought a new pair 3 months ago to replace my previous pair that had has seen better days. 3 months and they're already in worse shape than the pair I've had two years. Understand that these are my go to shoes. I wear them almost as often as my flip flops so they do get heavy use, but never have I had a pair do this. The lining on the insole came unglued within a week and a half and now the stitching is coming loose. What's changed? Different manufacturing facility? I don't know but I'm now very hesitant to replace these with another pair of sperrys. I'm going to search out more boat shoe options. I've never had a reason to look before but I assume there are other brands to choose from.

The sole of my sperry's started peeling up at the front of the sole by the balls of my feet from the day I got them. Then about 6 months after I bought them the sole came out completely.

Purchased as a replacement for identical shoes purchased over 2 years ago. Ordered same size & model number # as old pair but new shoes are actually smaller (shorter & narrower) than old ones. Old ones made in China, new pair made in Indonesia. Seems like Sperry cut the gauge on materials.

I have been buying this shoe forever, at least 20years,but this time the shoe seems to be made cheaper than before. Leather is much thinner, almost feels like a bedroom slipper rather than the shoe I new and loved. I am very disappointed this time with the quality, not like before. I buy the same shoe every year maybe two times a year, but I don't know about anymore. I hope this was just a bad pair.

Was a Christmas gift for my son. After wearing them they started to squeak like a dog toy from the heel. Returned them for a second pair and a puffing sound was coming form heel again. Returned that pair for another and the same puffing sound is coming from this 3rd pair. Will give one last try because my son likes this style and color. Is the A/O Sahara.

Not happy with these shoes. When trying to slip them on, my foot stops when my socks make contact with the insole in front of the support. Needs to be untied, spread open before it will allow my foot to go all the way in. After that, they are comfortable. I think they need a smooth leather insole to allow the socks to slide in easily.

The leather is not firm so the shoe is very floppy and cheap looking and feeling. I wore these shoes for 3 months almost everyday and the leather got completely worn out. I even used the sperry waterproofing spray. It just isn't a good quality shoe. I would recommend looking at the similarly priced Sperry Men's Mako 2-Eye Canoe Moc Boat Shoe. It is made of a higher quality leather and is a lot more sturdier. I have had them for about 5 months and they are in near mint condition despite my abuseful habits to the shoe. Definitely a much better buy, so i would recommend the Men's Mako 2-Eye Canoe Moc Boat Shoe over the classic boat show anyday. I love sperrys and the Classic boat shoe is the first and hopefully last pair of sperrys that I am not 100% satisfied with.

I loved the shoe but unfortunately it was shipped wrong. I ordered a 10.5 W and that's what the box said. However, the shoes inside the box were a 10.5 N. The shoe was way to narrow. I was disappointed to say the least. The shoes have been returned and I hope the correct size is being shipped to me.
