Don't go a 1/2 size down - I normally wear a 7 1/2 - 8 in any shoe and my foot is on the narrow side. I ordered a 7 1/2 in these and after three wearings I've determined that they have to go do another home. They're too small in the toe box and aren't stretching (the leather is quite thick and stiff). I'd recommend ordering your regular size.

Awesome boots. My mom had these boots in college, got rid of them (blast!), but we don't share the same size anyway. I ordered a half-size down as recommended, and they fit perfectly. It was a little tricky getting one foot in at first, but since they're leather, they will stretch a bit. So excited to wear them this fall!

LOVE these boots - The fit was perfect! I have a pair of the Frye Engineer boots in a size 9 (although I am a size 10), and was reluctant to order these in a size 10--but I'm glad I trusted the other reviews. The size 10 is perfect for this style! These are so comfy and I love the color! FRYE boots are so well made and last forever!

Greatest boots around - OK folks, these boots may feel a half size larger due to the heel slippage when new. This can easily be fixed by purchasing heel grippers which run around $3.00 per pair. Otherwise I recommend getting your size, not a half size smaller. The footbed is tight until broken in. If this is a real problem, any cobbler can stretch the boot. The leather sole can be slippery but again, can be fixed with "sure-steps" which are around $4.00 per pair. This boot will last you forever! I got my first pair in the mid 70s. I got my second pair a few months ago and am considering adding another color to my boot collection. If you're unsure of your size - try them on at a local store then come back to Zappos as they carry all the colors!

Frye Snow White Campus 14L - The color description says snow white but it's more of a muted white - not bright but easy on the eyes. The leather is thick throughout the shaft and foot. This is not a light weight boot - at least my size 9's weren't. This really is a beautiful pair of boots - classic look, quality craftsmanship, worth every penny. The front of the boot is a little tight at first as the leather is thick but soft. The shaft accommodates my not-so-skinny calves. I bought my true size and it works for me. I would recommend special socks (hiker’s socks - wool/synthetic) at first to wick away the moisture from the feet to cut down on the blisters while breaking these in... After that honeymoon period these boots will love your feet for a long time...

Great Boots, Great Quality!!! I got these in size 6 and they fit perfectly. Usually I wear a 6 to a 6.5 but a 6 fits just fine, even with socks. The white color has REALLY soft leather; I was surprised because I own 2 other Campus boots (black and banana) and those are harder to break in, especially the black ones. Not that I don't love my other boots, they're also wonderful boots but the white ones are really comfy-straight out of the box. They look great with jeans and dresses, the color is not White but more like an off-white, like a really light grey. Overall I'm really happy with this purchase. I'd recommend this Frye boot to everyone; get this color and the black ones. They go with everything. Frye absolutely makes the best boots.

Great Boots - I love my new boots and thanks to Zappos I received them in 3 days without extra charge. The leather is soft and I love that it has a subtle gold sheen to them. Great investment!

I love this boot. I got it in the red color and am thoroughly enjoying it. It runs a little big, but I added a running shoe insole to add some more cushioning and arch support and it's perfect.

I had a lot doubts about this boots. I needed like 2 months in order to decide purchase them. I made the order a Monday, and I received the shipment 3 days later. I have 2 weeks with them. The result? Amazing! Incredible boots! The style is perfect. You can use with jeans, or even with a suit, and believe me, they looks amazing. The confort is getting better every day. So far, an excellent purchase.

I love this boot. The width does not allow for thick boot socks, even though I don't have particularly wide feet. With thinner socks, though, they're as comfortable as loafers. This won't be my last pair of Frye boots!

Fantastic boots. They did require a bit of break-in, but now are extremely comfortable. They also are comfortable to walk in all day in an urban environment. Now that they are broken, they are very comfortable. They also work well in airport security lines, as they are easier to remove than something with laces. Highly recommend. I also have the walnut and saddle ones. I wish they made the campus boot with the shearling lining.

I'm another taller woman with wide feet. Given my good experiences with men's Frye harness boots, I thought I'd give the Campus boots a try. I've not regretted it. These fit me very well; the fit seems nearly identical to the fit of my harness boots )(the men's belted harness 12R). The leather is thick and strong, yet not too stiff, and they feel as if they're going to break in wonderfully. They are leather-bottomed, so walking friction will be a minor issue until they're a bit more worn. I can't tuck my jeans into them (I have wide calves, and rarely find boots wide enough for that), but they look terrific under jeans as well. The only problem is that, now, I think I may need another pair in another color!

I purchased the Frye Campus 14L in black and love them! They came out of the box supple and went on easily. They fit perfectly and are true to size. The workmanship is excellent and the look is classic. I am so glad I purchased them.

I won second place in a painting contest and spent the money on these Frye boots I have been fantasizing about for three years. I had a pair in the 70's which I wore out going to art school. When they were delivered the next day I couldn't believe it. My boots are so beautiful and fit like a dream. I am a 6 foot tall woman with slightly wide feet and so the mens sizing fit me perfectly. Zappos has every imaginable shoe and the service was remarkable.

Campus Boots Classic - I've had Frye boots nearly all my life, having discovered them in high school. Although I mourn the loss of several great styles which they had in the late 1970's, the Campus style is a classic! I've had a new-ish pair of these boots for some time and find that they are comfortable and break in nicely. I suggest ordering them to size, not smaller. The leather is thick and pretty unyielding, which makes them stand up well, but won't be very comfortable for very long if they are a bit small. A year ago I did notice that my back was bothered from all-day wearing, as I have some disc problems. I had a local cobbler reduce the thickness of the heel by about 3/8" and now they're more comfortable than ever. Although the toe box is squared off, they do present themselves well in both casual and dress occasions (well, not formal dress). I gave a lawyer friend of mine a pair of these many years ago for Christmas. He wears them under his suit trousers for courtroom appearances. He says that they give him a greater stature in the courtroom than regular oxford shoes could. So these boots' "attitude" extends itself to us grown-up professionals as well as young wearers. I wish that Frye would go back to making the English Riding Boot that they used to, which has a smooth polished finish and a more rounded toe - better for real dress wear. All in all, a great recommendation!

Classic! I don't know why I waited so long to get a pair of these. I used to think they looked too masculine, too bulky, and that they wouldn't successfully go with anything - but I was wrong on all counts. My feet actually look smaller with these on and although they're heavier than the rest of my boots, they're sturdy, durable, and can withstand any weather - rain, sleet, snow, or slush (although having said that, these are definitely better zip soled). What's more, they're so much fun to wear with sweater dresses and jeans alike. Love! These feel true to size for the most part, although I do agree with previous reviewers that the heel feels as if it's slipping up, which isn't that big of a deal with boots like it would be with a pump. With a thicker pair of socks, it's fine. These babies are STIFF at first wear, but they gradually get softer as they're broken in - so much so that you might find they're stiff at the beginning of the day and they're perfectly comfortable at the end. As for the listed calf circumference (13"), I don't think that's accurate as I'm fairly certain my calves are nearer to 14.5" - 15" and they fill these perfectly with barely any room left for say, a tucked in jean. All in all, I'm thrilled with my purchase and am for sure a recent Frye convert!

These boots are beautiful. The suede is absolutely gorgeous. You won't be disappointed. Beautiful Frye quality and comfort.

The "Campus 14L" is my favorite style of Frye’s. I have several pairs in different colors already, though none of the ones I already own are suede, which is what makes this pair so awesome. Same fit, comfort, and great look to them - magnified by the unbelievably cool texture of the suede. Add to that the color (I got them in the dusty red) - and they're so cool it's almost unbearable! Am now considering getting them in the slate blue suede as well. You can't go wrong with these boots - believe me, I know - I've been wearing them since my days of being a hippy chick in my 20's - and am still a hip chick in my 50's!

Sweet boots! These are great! The heel is a bit heavier than I'm used to, but overall the fit is nice, a bit snug in the front, but I have wide feet. Very soft leather on the shaft.

Purchase of Frye Campus 14L- This is my first pair of Frye boots and I love them. I get a lot of compliments on them! They fit well although they may be a little narrow. I have found that through wear they have stretched out. I really like my Frye's and I am looking to buy another pair.
