Look great, but don't hold up very well.
These look great and are pretty comfortable, but after about 6 months the fabric behind my heels started to wear away and now (1 year) there is just hard plastic scraping the back of my foot. My last Vans lasted about twice as long.
Make sure you untie these every time you put these on to avoid this.
Also, they felt about a size bigger than they were marked. I wore a size 12 Vans before and these I had to wear 11 and probably could have worn 10 1/2 after they stretched a little. Width was good.

Cool shoe, good feel, a little slimmer then last XL III but still an overall good shoe.

Comfortable Classics -
I love theses shoes. I try to always have a pair of "Rowley’s" of some kind. There are several incarnations, all vegan (think don't stretch out much)which is nice for several reasons, although a little odd in the Motorhead version since Metal bands tend to be all leathered up, but I digress. I think these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn and it makes me feel like I am supporting skate culture even if I am probably just a poser! Great Shoes!

Comfy shoes, odd look.
Love the black and white stripes but the shoe is a tad big around the tongue for me. Despite that, really comfy shoe. I haven't been sore since I’ve received these (I am on my feet for the majority of the day).

Cloudlike comfort -
The most comfortable sneakers I've ever tried on. And vegan (no leather) to boot! But the puffy padded tongue under the laces raises the profile of the sneaker so much that it looks bizarre with normal street clothes like khakis -- the cuff line of your pants is disturbed and looks very messy. Not for the professional wardrobe.

Vans Rowley XL3 -
These shoes are pretty sweet. I got them today, and was skating with them. The suede goes pretty fast so Saturday I'm buying some Shoo Goo to keep them in tact. Best part is the look or grip. The grip is especially great. Plus, they upgraded me to next day shipping, how sweet is that. Really like them so far. I'm either going to get the Carroll 4's or the B. Herman’s next. I recommend these shoes.

XL III-
The perfect shoe. It’s slim so you can feel your board, yet not too slim so that when you do big things it hurts your feet. It held together for a while too. Great shoe!

Vans Rowley XL III - Red/Black/White-
The shoe fit true to size and width. I was not pleased with laces but it is my preference. Laces for me were too short and I prefer the triangle laces with this type shoe.

Very loose shoe -
If you buy these shoes, make sure to get a size or more smaller than you normally buy. They may feel a little tight at first, but after a few days the tongue compresses a lot and makes the shoe very loose. The brown ones look lighter in the picture. They also get bend marks near the toes after a few days. Overall though, I like the look and they are pretty comfortable and EXTREMELY light.

Sexxxxy Shoe-
Finding a good quality vegetarian shoe isn't an easy thing to do so, needless to say, I'm overjoyed at finding this one here. It's a hot, comfy shoe and the service was terrific. I had to return the first ones I ordered because they were a little tight; but to have the first pair shipped and returned, and then a second pair sent to me, only took four days total. I'll certainly be ordering from these guys again!

Great shoe on the first try -
This was my first time buying shoes online and it has worked out really well. The shoes are great, very nice looking, and they have been holding up really well so far.

Very light shoes. Felt longer than the size marked. Width was appropriate and arch support was so-so.

DISSAPOINTED -
Ok, I found these shoes on Zappos and I got them, but they were way too small and then it stayed that way for about a week of back and forth shipping of new shoes in a diff. size. So when I got this one I sent it back with all the others and gave up on Vans. The shoe looks great, way too small, order a size or two larger then u ordinarily wear, but very comfortable and I thank Zappos for being very cooperative with me and the shipments. Zappos is the best, no doubt about it.

XL3 -
No break in time, Awesome grip but wears off a little too fast, not durable enough. Very, very light, NO lace protection, not a lot of ventilation (two holes on arch side of foot).
Insert is glued in so I can’t take it out to replace it or take it out to let it air out.
The Eva is good padding. I hurt my toes a lot (not enough padding around the shoe). A little arch support. Get it if you want it’s an ok shoe. Maybe it’s the red/black shoe. That’s the one I tried.

Good shoe -
Had the XL2, this is my second pair of XL3. Really like them, don't last long though. Probably the only pair I will ever buy to skate in. Very light weight.

XL III -
The XL III is an awesome shoe look wise but doesn’t deliver on durability. It lacks lace protection, so you will most likely be blowing through a lace per week depending on how much you skate. The rubber toe cap was great for the first few days that I had the shoe that is until the stitching wore out. Once the triple stitch wore out the whole toe of the shoe began to deteriorate and fall apart. The strip of suede where you put the laces came off rather quickly as well. The sole of the shoe is not as grippy as it is made out to be. Again, excellent for a few days, but in roughly 2-3 weeks I flat bottomed them. I'm not sure if there is an option for a gum sole, but if there is that would be the way to go. The heel protection worked great though. It was about the only part of the shoe that really held up throughout my 4 weeks of owning these. The insoles are also pretty good; they have an absorbing gel feeling which helps to prevent bruises on the heel and ball of your foot. It's a good insole, but not near as good as the System G2 that are in most Emerica shoes. Overall, the shoe was great for looks and skating for the first 2 weeks, but after that mark it really lost value. It may seem like a great buy for the near future, but you can definitely find better value elsewhere.

Mom in Maryland -
I purchased these shoes for my son in high school just prior to the beginning of school. He really liked the style, fit and comfort of the shoe. Unfortunately, almost immediately the 'suede' of the vegan leather began to rub off. I suggested that we try to return them, but he didn't want to because he liked them. He has now worn them for just under 4 months and not only has the 'suede rubbed off but they have a crack across the front to the shoe and even he agrees that they should be replaced. I want to note that he only wears these shoes to walk around in. His last pair of Vans were replaced after a years wear only because they were a year old. They still looked great. The previous shoes were made of suede leather and held up much better. As a matter of fact, he will go back to wearing those until we replace the new ones. The vegan leather does not hold up and I would not want to purchase a shoe made of it again.

Rubbing off-
The synthetic leather is rubbing off and looks like the shoe is falling apart. This started happening almost instantly and about a month into it these look like they have been through a lot! Would definitely not recommend these at all.

Again, Vans Rips Up sooo quickly-
These shoes are probably the lightest shoe I ever had, comparing these to Rowley's earlier shoes like the XLT (my favorite, along with the Rowley Classic) and the XL2 (rubbish).
But then again, having a super light shoe has its pitfalls, the most important being that it won't last that long. Even the Ollie guards are so soft that it really is a ridiculously priced shoe at its retail price. For something that won't last that long, anyway.
I'd also recommend:
any shoe that has thick ollie guards and lace protectors. coz if they don't, don't buy them

Had two weeks and fuzz is already starting to wear off -
Two weeks after I bought these shoes the fuzz on the exterior of the shoes started wear off. I have had only a month and they are garbage. Would not buy again a waste of $70. These were the synthetic ones so I'm not sure if the leather is better.
