What is going on with the soles of these shoes? They are no longer white rubber with excellent traction. The soles now are made of a rigid yellow frictionless (making them deadly slippery) plastic. RIP Sperry. I will miss your wonderful boat shores of days gone by.

These definitely are not for men with wide feet...even so marked as wide on the box and show indicated inside it was wide it was not.

These are the smallest size 9 wide shoes that I have ever tried to pry on to my foot. No chance, maybe a size 11 extra wide would fit. Pathetic sizing.

I have ordered Timberland Earthkeepers Kiawah Bay boat-shoes for my husband for several years and he has been very comfortable wearing them on a daily basis. He wears a size 16 so our options are limited and the Timberland shoes are not currently available so I ordered the Sperry Top-Sider. This shoe is very poor quality and the soles are so thin that his feet immediately became painful, he even bought cushioned inserts in an attempt to solve the problem. Luckily we bought them here at Zappos where customer service is great and we were able to return them.

I have been buying Sperry boat shoes for years and just recently I have had issues with this brand... The last pair I bought lasted an entire 2 years. However recently Sperry has clearly tried to up their margins by increasing the cost of the shoes while decreasing the quality making them much cheaper... The pair that I recently bought feel apart in 2 weeks so Zappos was kind enough to exchange, however the sole of the second pair of shoes weren't glued in fell apart immediately. I will be calling Zappos again for an exchange and switching to a new brand of boat shoes. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. My experience so recently has been so bad that my entire family has stopped purchasing Sperry brand boat shoes. I will be sure to contact Sperry and complain, if anyone else runs into this problem I suggest you do the same so they are aware of their terrible product.

I am very disappointed. I bought Sperry due to what I thought was the best. The Topsider has been manufactured for years. The front inside of the shoe sole was very rough. Much like a sandpaper finish. After wearing for one day I developed a large blister on the bottom of my foot. The inside sole plate should be extended to cover the rough leather finish or smooth out the leather. I had to put heavy paper into the shoes to wear them during vacation. Now I will get some Dr. Scholl inserts in order to wear them. Why should I have to? Next pair of boat shoes? Back to Dockers.

Disappointed no longer the quality that I was used to years past, after six months to a year they seem to fall apart and at this price that is not a good value.

I've had good Sperry's before, but on this one, the leather of the top flap was so thin that it folds under (right side only) every time you put on the shoe, requiring untying the lace, pulling up the flap, and then tying the lace again. It's now 'used' so I can't return it. Timberland would be a better choice.

This shoe was marked extra wide, but it is much less wide than other brands that are marked medium width. The heel has a bump in it due to the stitching that hits my husband's heel right in the middle and hurts. He has been trying to wear them around the office to break them in, but they are just too tight (not wide enough) and the bump in the back is too uncomfortable. He gave up and went to a shoe store to try on several different brands of boat shoes ending up with a medium width from Clarks that was comfortable (he usually wears a WW-WWW).

I bought a pair of A/O's in the ice color. The soles of the first pair I got were yellow and oxidized and they cracked when I bent them. So naturally, I sent them back to try and get an exchange. When the exchanged pair came the next day (great customer service by the way), the same problem was there. I don't know if this was a problem with the order that Zappos got but overall I was quite disappointed with the shoe. On to the rest of the shoe, the insole is comfy and soft and the shoe as a whole is comfortable other than the bad outsoles. The color is true to what Zappos has pictured (except the soles). I hope Zappos gets their "Ice" stock fixed and I do not want this to deter you from buying a pair. I just thought my experience should be known and you should be on the lookout.

Just got them today and have already dropped them back off at the UPS store for a refund. I wear a size 13 and they run incredibly big. They came in scuffed and discolored. The dye pigment was uneven and distorted. They look like they have already been worn. Not the quality that I had experienced with my older pairs of Sperry's. Not worth the price.

I am a huge Sperry fan, and have been for years, but these were a major disappointment. They fell apart in the first week, and less than a month of occasional wear has left them destroyed and unwearable. Add in the fact they did not fit like Topsiders, and worst of all the soles are slippery; on the sidewalk, on the deck of a boat, and dangerous on carpet! Take a pass.

Didn't like the color. Picture online looked more rugged in appearance, darker. So I don't like them and haven't worn them.

This shoe is about 5 shades lighter than it appears in the picture. Very dissatisfied. These are light tan at best. Definitely not brown.

These are great boat shoes except for one thing. Every time I wear them they turn my socks reddish brown. Can't wait to wear them barefoot.

It looks like Sperry discontinued the blue Billfish style. Thought I might like the Top-Sider Authentic Original style as an alternative, but not at all.

Bought these to replace a pair from 2 years ago. The insole glue has already come loose in about 5 wearings, and the liner rolls up and rubs against the bottom of your foot. Not sure if they just missed the glue entirely or if the workmanship has gotten worse. The pair that is 2 years old still has the insole glued down and never had the problem. Would not recommend to purchase at all.

Zappos.com has been exceptional to shop with. The service towards my purchases and returns has been outstanding. Unfortunately, I must confirm the oatmeal color Authentic Originals are unsatisfactory due to the rubber soles being near unwearable with their hard, slick surface. On my first pair the sole on the right shoe was much different (hard and slick) than the left (reasonably soft and tacky). That pair was returned, the purchase credited to my account and I replaced them with an identical pair. The second pair of shoes are both hardened and slick on its soles. I enjoyed the comfort, fit, and style of these shoes, yet the soles makes these shoes almost worthless. Thank you Zappos for the great service, and I will continue to use your site for other shoe needs.

Do not buy this shoe. It is a total waste of money. Not normal Sperry quality at all. The shoe is made of a very cheap inferior leather. It does not look as pictured on the website - it is a dull sandy color, not polished or oiled at all, rather like a poor imitation of nubuck. The shoes scuff and scratch instantly if they come into contact with anything. After two days of wearing, they look like 5 year old slippers. Terrible! Unfortunately I cannot return them because we accidentally threw the box away.

Sorry, but do not buy these. I bought them to take on vacation. Unfortunately they were the only shoes I brought with me, and there is something inside of them that bled onto my socks and ruined every pair I had with me. They look nice, and fit well but I cannot afford to keep ruining socks.

The sole is like a piece of car tire. This is not a comfortable shoe. The shoe is not well made. I had three pair of these, and in all of them, the sole split out in under a year.

I got these in black to wear with dark clothes, but when casual and comfortable are the dress code, not dressy. They look and wear great!

My husband is obsessed with these shoes! He’s been wearing them for centuries, it seems…. I’d love it if he wore something slightly more fashionable, but he just cannot give these up. Sigh. I’ll just keep ordering more for him!
