Ordered a 13. I wear a this size in everything from work boots to dress shoes. These felt like they were 15's and narrow.

I wanted to like these. I am a dyed in the wool Timberland fan. I just stepped out of a pair of Goretex Tims that I have had for at least five years. Unfortunately, these just did not have the same fit that I am used to in Tims - and even more surprising that I bought them in wide. After less than a day of walking in them, the top side, left boot, at the hinge in my step began to pinch and cause discomfort. And on the right foot, at the same area, a crease was already forming in the leather. I was very surprised, especially in light of all the positive five star reviews these boots have. Anyway, thanks to Zappos for allowing me to return them after wearing and exchange them for different boots.

The boots do repel water and the fit is good. I do have issue with boot which may go away as they break in. The right boot pushes down on the top of my foot as it flexes. I had a blister which burst and was bleeding by the time I returned from my hike. So far I have been able to use these boots only by using a band-aid on the foot.
I'd also recommend:

These boots are great. They look good, they feel good, they wear good, but man, do they smell bad! And I'm not talking after a week of wear! Right out of the box, the leather has this funky smell... like dirty sheep or cows. I tried to apply shoe shine, spray foot deodorant on them, they still reek so bad that I have to keep them outside, on the balcony.
Apart from the smell, I love the boots.

Great hiking shoes while they lasted. I got maybe 15 hikes out of them in an 18 month time span before the outer sole started separating away from the toe!

The padding around the ankle is too thick which does not leave very much room for a normal size ankle. I'm forced to pull the opening way open when I lace up. Additionally this boot seems to twist my feet in an inward direction at the arch. Just not comfortable. And that's with buying a half size up. Sorry Timberland, this pair is collecting dust. But I did buy the Mt. Maddsens and those fit perfect also a 9.5. See the pic and compare the two.

I have had 3 pair of these boots in the past and they have been fine, good enough for this farmer to use on the daily which I think says they are good quality. Unfortunately the pair I received had a an overstuffed ankle cuff, very odd. I have not seen this before, its like they put in twice the stuffing and it makes the boots very uncomfortable. Will be returning. Hope the brand can get its quality control together in the future.

Could be the perfect, BUT not. Very slippery on the wet surface. VERY slippery = VERY dangerous. If I didn't have a good balance and good luck I would have a broken neck or/and broken something. Disappointing.

The boots are not waterproof. They flow, even after I've walked on wet grass. During a heavy downpour, they flow from above, the top lets the water through. I will not buy Timberland products again

I can wear a medium in the timberland work boots, but not These ! I couldn't even get my foot in. I promptly returned. I then went and got the timberland 6 in direct attach boots. These fit perfectly.

I've bought three pairs of these over the last three years. I keep buying them because they are comfortable from day one. Except that every single pair I've owned has broken. The outer part of the boot where the sole meets the boot material splits apart down the entire side exposing your feet within.

Although its a beautiful boot that is lightweight and well made, it just wasn't the right fit for my foot. Timbs in general can be a bit on the rigid side and I found these to be no different. If you like the feeling of extra sturdiness and not too much give, these are great, but if you're like me and prefer something with more give and is softer on the inside, another offering may be better.

Rigid sides rubbed against my ankles. Even after undoing laces it still hurt my ankles, yikes. Too uncomfortable to wear for any purpose.

It's labelled as 8.5W but it looks and feels very narrow. I have another Tims hiking boots that is size 8 Medium; that is wider than this 8.5W. It is not comfortable to walk in these shoes as well.

I purchased the 10 wide and I can tell you it's not a wide. It's way too narrow. Timberland has gone down in quality, mainly going for looks. Sacrifice quality for looks.

Really like Timberlands and have been purchasing them most of my adult life. It just seems as though that the rubber always separates from the leather. I bought this particular model and wore them very sparingly. The rubber at the front of the boot, where it meets the top portion of Lara the/fabric has already begun to separate.

Unfortunately even ordering the wide size was still too narrow. Will have to look to see if a double wide is available.

These look great and have proven to be very comfortable and durable. Unfortunately they are not waterproof. About a half hour of shoveling snow and my feet were soaked.
