This is for all the ladies who are worried about sizing. I know with these types of reviews, it is always like well, which is it?!? If you are used to ordering from ModCloth, their Salt Water sandals are off UK sizes, which are not Big Kid sizes. So there is that. So depending on where your friend or whomever ordered their sandal, their recommendation to size up or down is entirely dependent about that. Moving on. I am very strictly a large 7½. If a boot is leather, I will order a 7½. If I am ordering running shoes, I tend to order an 8 for a roomier fit. When I am ordering sandals, I will order a 7½. These guidelines have fared me well so far. So all in all, I would say I am a large 7½, small 8. I also have very wide feet, but leather tends to break in easily to accommodate. If any of that makes any sense. I ordered these Salt Waters in a 5 Kids/7 Women. This was not my better judgement, but I did find out about these sandals through my favorite blogger, who swears that you need to size down. This was not the case, as I found out she ordered them through Mod Cloth. I hope you are following. They were too small. So all in all, I would say size up if you are in between sizes. My heel was actually hanging off the sandal by ½". I could have sucked it up, but I knew they would bug me so I sent them back. I was pretty heartbroken, being as they are just as comfortable as everyone raves they are, despite not having any arch support. Amazing! It makes no sense why they are so comfortable.

Friends at work turned me on to this cute, comfy and reasonably priced brand of sandals, and when I went to Zappos and saw the rose gold ones, I ordered immediately in what I thought would be my best size. They were a tiny bit loose, and I felt my foot moving in them, yet they were comfortable and stable enough for quite a bit of city walking (flat ground/sidewalks). But I started to wonder if a size down might be better, since there is so much talk re: size on this shoe. Hopefully the pictures will help people determine what is best for them, as "perfect fit" is not the same for everyone. I wear a size 6-1/2 shoe, 36 Euro in nearly every brand I've ever worn. I have somewhat duck feet, so a little wide at the front with a narrow heel. I ordered my rose gold Salt Water sandals in size 5/W7. You can see how my toes don't hit the stitching. I ordered the navy blue sandals in size 4/W6. My toes come almost to the edge of the sandal, but there is absolutely no overhang at the toe or heel. The straps of the shoe fit my foot much more snugly, which for me means that I would be more likely to dance or make quick turns in them. My feet feel fully supported and stable, while the larger size sandals could potentially contribute to a twisted ankle if I tried too much fancy footwork in them. Also, personally, I don't like the way so much of the shoe is showing in the toe area. I prefer the toes coming closer to the edge, but again, this is where everyone is different. Some might prefer the looser look and feel, but I think it's important to know that a person can successfully wear two sizes and have them both technically fit, just in a different way. For the record, both of my friends who wear the Salt Water sandals wear them as my feet appear in the larger sandal. I can literally see their feet moving around within the sandal as they walk, but they prefer that fit. Hope all this helps!

I wear a women\'s 7, but got these in a 6 Youth. The 7 Youth was too big. They are as comfortable as they can be with no arch support or padding of the sole. I\'m 48, overweight and wore them all day and was just fine. :-)

I thought about ordering these for a few years but wasn't sure because I thought the front might be too loose and they wouldn't be comfy because they have no arch support - but they are great! I wouldn't go for a long walk in them but for general use they are great. And super cute, I think!

Be careful of sizing - Size 8 does not mean "size 8" It says on the shoe "size 8 - woman's 10"! The size I need, because I am a natural size 8, is salt water sandal size 6! Be careful. On the lighter side, I love these shoes. I traveled all through Europe in them. They don't have much of an arch support and are pretty darn flat, but I find them extremely comfortable. They're the best in tropical destinations because they can get wet - that actually makes them fit even better. Love them!

These sandals are super. Bought a couple pairs for my 13 year old daughter over 4 year period. Purchased one pair each for sons ages 6 & 8. Over summer they wore them, somewhat reluctantly due to other kids' comments about sandals looking girly. Unfortunately they are not "unisex" enough. Need thicker, darker soles & velcro closures to be boy friendly. Made the boys wear them anyway because they beat Keen's, etc. In Keen's the feet get gross & stinky because sandals are too synthetic & enclosed.

I love love these sandals! I will be wearing them all summer! Despite little or no arch support, these are sooo comfortable and easy to wear all day! I was worried about them being too small because it says they fit “big kids”. . I wear a women’s 11, and prefer 11.5 when I can! The open toe helps me get that little additional space I need. I bought a pair for my daughter who wears the same size. She lives hers too! These are perfectly retro and stylish today!

I LOVE these sandals! I followed the size guide (on the official Saltwater sandals site) and ordered a 9 since I normally wear an 8.5. Perfect fit. The shoe is a little wider in the top, but that’s very comfortable for me because my feet are a little wider at the top :-). After the first day I wore them, they began molding to my feet. Snug and comfy like a sock. The turquoise is more of a REALLY bright aqua blue than turquoise... not much yellow in the color. They are the cutest. Planning to order a couple other colors.

I'm puzzled that anyone says to order up in these. I'm an 8 or an 8.5, and the 8s in these had a solid inch of extra toe length (see photo with measuring tape). Unless mine were mislabeled, these run incredibly big. Other than that, I like them! They seem solidly constructed and stay on my feet.

Great sandals. Mine fit just right, and I was surprised that I had no initial blisters or breaking in problems. Comfortable from the get-go! I bought them specifically to wear as water shoes during vacation, but they are so comfortable, I wear them nearly every day and plan to buy at least one more pair.

Surprisingly comfortable sandal! I needed something flat & accommodating - I am pregnant and knew that the Philly heat and humidity would be taking its toll. I was a little worried that these would be too flat or not soft/comfy enough for walking a lot, but my worries were unfounded. I've worn these a lot, often walking for an hour or two, and they remain comfortable. The rubber sole is not squishy, but it's softer than it looks, and the leather conforms perfectly to my foot - not a single blister or sore spot from day one. I have more expensive sandals from Dansko, but these are my everyday go-to favorite now. Plus I love the retro style.

The fit was fine, I’m normally a 6.5 but my feet swell in the heat so I ordered a 7. They were great until I stood up. The spot where the leather strap meets the footbed of the sandal poked the bottom of both of my feet and was very painful. They also looked like the straps were already becoming separated from the bottom of the shoe. They are cute but were very uncomfortable and looked cheap.

I decided to read the reviews and there was a lot of mixed reviews. I grew up with salt waters and was pretty nervous purchasing from this site. I’ve been looking for them for awhile and I’m happy I found Zappos. I have wide feet and usually wear 10-11 in woman’s size for sandals and heels. I’m a size 8 1/2 originally. I purchased the size 8 big kids woman 10 at first, it was very tight in the front and felt a 8 1/2 woman’s size and kinda tight on the strap part of the sandals. Salt waters do stretch over time but I knew that the kids 8 wouldn’t be comfortable. Customer service was excellent and helped me exchange for a bigger size. The big kid size 9 woman’s 11 is so much better and is not to tight on the top of my foot. I have more room and it doesn’t look long at all. I recommend sizing up if you have wide feet.

Everything about Zappos rocks. These are my favorite sandals by far. Perfect for narrow feet! Color is great and they stretch!

The Classic - Saltwater sandals are so cute, and they are virtually indestructible. Have to have a pair or two for my daughter every summer. Very flat and no arch support, though, so not the best for people with foot problems.

Salt Water Sandals--Perfect "in-between" sandal for kids - The Salt Water Sandal is great as a sandal that is a bit dressier than flip flops and sports sandals for kids. I needed a sandal for my son to wear for my sister's Greek Isle wedding, and this fits the bill.

Big hit - Tons of people ask me where I got them. They are a big hit. The size was a perfect women’s 9. I was a bit worried about the "youth" sizing, but it was no problem. I am totally buying another pair.

Trying to buy „one size up“ for my daughter, to replace her almost outgrown last pair of Saltwater Sandals (size 5). Very surprised to see size 6 being essentially THE SAME as size 5 from 2 years ago. Did they change sizing??? Need to return and hope size 7 doesn‘t suddenly run way bigger...

I just scored a tan pair of these classic sandals at the thrift store, they were almost brand new! I had admired the style since I saw a pair on a friend years ago, but never found out who the maker was until now. If I like them maybe I will buy more online here! I'll try them out at the beach tomorrow for sure. I wear a 6 1/2 and the sandal I got is labeled W/7 on the bottom. It's roomy width-wise but it looks good that way.

These are great summer sandals! Though they are classics, they have a nice retro feel for indie looks. They are so comfortable-- they don't need break in time at all-- they are soft right out of the box. The only down side is that there is no arch support-- which might make the lower leg area sore after a lot of walking. But I still love these sandals!

Great classic sandal - Cute classic shoe. Goes with anything-dresses, shorts, capris, jeans. My daughter loves them because it is almost like going barefoot. She has a high instep and this can be a problem for some shoes, she's very picky. These were perfect for her. I own a pair as well and constantly get compliments.

Loved this shoe - The sizing was perfect for me. I wear a size 8 women's, so the size 6 youth was perfect. So comfortable, even on the first wearing. I will wear these all summer!

I got the navy pair a year ago, and I love them, wear them quite often. I want a purple and a green pair, but I would take a tan pair. But I can't find them anywhere in adult size. Can you help???
