Just ordered a second pair. The first lasted for two-and-a-half years of every-other-day use. Although these have a hiking/combat appearance, they feel more like old-time basketball high tops. I would not recommend these for long or rugged hiking; wear them for casual or up to an hour-long hike. They run a bit narrow, but the canvas stretches. I added a better inner sole because the one that came with them was a bit thin. The laces will wear out long before the boots, but for the money you save buying these boots, you could by miles of laces!

Sturdy boot with a sneaker look. They run about an half size larger. I usually wear a US MEN 9 I ordered a US MEN 8.5. With some water and stain repellent spray it's a good boot in the rain and snow with the thick, sturdy rubber sole. They won't keep your feet too warm, but you can wear thick socks with these.

Only took one day to ship. A little narrow across the the instep. Hoping that'll diminish over time. Rather stylish. Hope they were a good choice for Summer. I think the whole French Foreign Legion thing gives the shoe a certain "cool" factor, maybe that's just me. Considering a second pair already.

I wanted a canvas shoe for work and tried the converse all-star black matte and these. Palladium boots are much more sturdy and have a thick sole (a little higher profile, but not too clunky). There is no particular arch support, but the thicker sole and construction are more supportive to my foot overall. I get lots of compliments on the brown/green color I also ordered. Definitely run a half size larger than trues size (in men and women's version).

Overall this is an excellent light weight boot with a timeless, rugged look and cool history. I love when products are so right they do not need to be changed over the decades just for the sake of change, and these boots fit that bill. A great purchase for the price, and I hope durability will be one of it's assets. I have worn these about 20 times now and they show no signs of wear so far, but that's not much of a durability review yet I know. In terms of fit, they are not perfect, at least for my feet. I am a consistent size 9.5 with a moderately wide foot. While the length is fine, even with thicker socks, I would agree with other reviews that say they seem to be a bit on the narrow side. They squeeze my left foot a bit around the metatarsals. This seems to be gradually improving as they break in a bit more, but it is still noticeable. The nice thing about this however, is that I can wear them without tying the laces for easier on/off and they still feel like my feet do not slip around inside them at all. I still have to pull them off my feet, or use the toe of one to heel of the other technique, even when the laces are completely loose, I can't kick them off. Despite being a bit too snug on my feet, they are comfortable for long walks, and if they prove to have the durability they feel like they should have, this will be a favorite shoe of mine. I have treated mine with a water resistant spray and now they are a year-round boot, as long as the temps are above 15-20 deg. F or so.

I dig 'em. Light and flexible like Converse Chucks but thicker, tougher canvas and grippy rubber soles. Exactly what you'd get if army boots and Chucks had a baby. They run narrow so I had to go a half size bigger than I usually would. If they came in a wide size they would be the perfect shoe.

I ordered a pair of these in grey. They arrived and were one half size too large. Return was easy and received correct size, but they were green. Second return was easy but I received another pair in green, not grey. I decided to go with the dark khaki since the color is obviously an issue. Received khaki and they are fine. Got an apology from Zappos and a credit to use, which I have. Great customer service - I will always trust Zappos to make it right. Rhey in Colorado!

I normally wear 8-8½W shoes. I ordered these in 8½, hoping that would fit well enough. Sadly, they were too narrow and pinched the sides of both feet. I returned them for a 9, and they fit very well on my wide feet. They take an arch support insole perfectly. These are good breathable walking/hiking boots.

Order your regular size. The fit is perfect, the quality is very good and they are comfortable. I also own Chuck Taylors and these are more comfortable and appear to be the better buy.

I am very happy with these shoes. Lightweight and more comfortable than similar Converse shoes. Great construction and a nice sturdy out-sole.

I've had a pair of Palladium Baggys for about 5 years now, and the tread is still prominent -- whatever rubber compound they use, it's extremely durable. I bought a new pair of Pampa Hi because my others had stretched out a bit (as canvas will) and lost a bit of the heel due to my strike. In any case, I'm quite happy with them -- sturdy, very lightweight, surprisingly water-resistant (though not at all waterproof) and damn stylish. I wear them almost every day in fall/winter. I heartily recommend a pair, but only for casual wear -- these are not work, hiking, or load-bearing boots. They're essentially super rugged Converse -- fit as comfortably as a sneaker, but are more capable. I've found that I generally wear a 9 and a Palladium 9 fits me perfectly. I do recommend adding a new insole, though, as the stock ones are flimsy and offer no arch. Zappos' service was flawless, as ever.

These are durable and can be worn on the trail or out casually if clean. They look good with shorts or denim. The color is a greenish gray which is what I wanted. They are decently comfortable.

These are some really cool looking shoes. Not sure if they are boots or sneakers or some kind of hybrid. They're nice for that rugged look but I was surprised its not good for wet weather...not much traction on wet surfaces and doesn't exactly keep the water out. I still think they're cool. Just don't make it your winter boot.

I got a pair of these for light hiking. They work great! They fit very much like Chuck Taylors but have a thick enough sole to protect the bottoms of your feet from protrusions. They are also pretty "sticky" on rocks and logs. The insoles that come with the shoe were terrible for me. There is a hard foam flange that dug into my instep painfully. I replaced the insoles, which come out easily, with a Scholl's working gel insole, and now they feel great and are very comfortable. I have flat feet, this might not be as much of an issue for other folks.

Just ordered my second pair. The first lasted almost one year to the date. Wore them regularly including two weeks knocking around Germany. Perfect everyday wearer. If wetness is a concern, you should waterproof them. In my opinion, more durable than Converse.

I like these shoes a lot. They are comfortable and well made and good for wet weather. They are a little intense looking, but less so than Dr Martens.

Great customer service. Fast shipping. Yet two pairs of the same shoe I bought, I cannot wear. One was ripped, 2nd pair that was reshipped, not the same size. Not going to order again!

Great boot! I've bought Palladiums before and this boot didn't disappoint. I'm not really crazy about the style, but they're comfortable enough to support my wide foot, and I didn't even have to take out the insole as I usually do. It's a rugged boot with its rubber sole that covers the toes, and it's flexible because of the canvas material. No breaking-in needed! And it's very affordable. I also like the fact that it didn't have the pull tab in the back as many boots do. Those things always keep my pants pushed up. Happy with my purchase!

These shoes are more of a hybrid between boots and converse sneakers, with the addition of extra durability considering the "converse" element in these boots. I've been wearing these for 2-3 weeks now, and they've been warmer than expected. They were not very heavy, and it took me several days to break into these (oh the chafing!). The fit is pretty good, but it's moderate arch support. I wish they included an extra pair of shoestrings with my order. Not the classiest looking boots - but at least there's no annoying converse logo. Grungy look.

The shoes are great. It was Customer Service that was the issue when I decided to order another pair. When I decided to cancel that order within 4 hours of placing it, I was told it had already processed. Yet it was more than two days before I received notification of such. Told to accept delivery and then return by one CS rep, a chat rep online stated they could intercept delivery and return to sender. Told refund would take up to 30 days once returned, I complained how was it possible for them to take the funds for the order from my Paypal BEFORE it shipped, yet it would take almost 30 to refund??? Not happy, at all!

I bought these boots for work I drive a semi tractor-trailer rig. I am constantly getting in & out of the truck for deliveries; around slippery fuel stops etc. I was concerned that the soles would be safe in this environment...and they are very good for this work environment. My only concern was that I have to wear two pairs of socks due to getting blisters from my toes rubbing on the inside at first...after wearing a pair of "shorties" under my cotton work socks solved this problem (not a manufacturer's problem). I ordered the size 11 because I thought I needed a 10.5 size which were out of stock. I received the first pair (11's) within 24 hours after ordering (I live in KY). The 11's were too long, so I called Customer service to return them and received the size 10's again, within 24 hours...and they fit perfectly! I definitely plan to purchase the Pampa Hi Leather style, as it will most likely prove to be a great wet/cold weather boot. These are great boots for work or just kicking around in.
