This is a very serious boot - believe is best suited for those that regularly work in cold, snowy and wintry conditions. Others should be fine with the bear...which is lighter but still gets the job done for periods of heavy wintry conditions.

Love my new boots! We live in snow country for NY and the last pair I purchased are at least 20 years old. I wear them snowmobiling and snow blowing. Great warmth. PS.I should have purchased a new pair sooner.

Wonderful boots! Very warm--in fact too warm in mild weather. I live in Alaska where it can be regularly below zero, but can also hover around the 20-30's and when these boots are laced up you will sweat!! But I have yet to be cold in them and I always have cold feet--which is why I bought them. Like other reviewers mentioned, these are not for hiking or long distances. They could be used for that but they are heavy and the way they fit so high on your calf, makes them a bit bulky. That being said, they are perfect for Alaskan winters and taking the kids sledding or camping out.

Sorel Glacier - The insole on these boots is extremely soft and cushioned, but the boot is very bulky and heavy on your feet. Good for snowmobiling or any activity that does not require a lot of walking. I am returning mine and opted for the Sorel Blizzard which is a lighter weight boot.

Very warm and comfortable for deep snow and very cold days. I love Zappos for their shipping and exchange policies. I also love them because they are practically the only place I can find shoes for my husband, as he has very wide feet.

I love my new snow boots! They fit true to size, and keep my feet nice and toasty. I have had not such good luck in the past with keeping my feet warm... bad circulation, but, not so with my new Sorel Glaciers. I am very impressed, and grateful! Zappos, as always, got them to me the next day. Thank you.

Zappos is a great place to not only find what you are looking for but get great service in the process of purchasing it. We love these boots, they're great for colder climates.

I bought these boots for a snow shoveling biz, because my feet in past years got cold in other models, brands etc. These boots no way - they keep my feet toasty dry all the hours we're out in below freezing weather standing on ice or very cold surface no problem. Before the cold come up through the sole, but not now. I'm pleased and so are my feet.

Big, heavy boots, but true to size and so warm. I bought them for my 17 year old and my husband fell in love with them. He said he would trade his boots for his son s boots in a heartbeat. No trade! We got them just in time for the snow blizzard of 2010, the day the snow started.

We had over 75 inches of snow this winter in Maryland! These boots are fantastic! Your feet stay warm and dry in the worst conditions.

My godson is 16 years old and has really large feet. We had a very hard time finding boots that were warm and fit well. He loves these boots. He got stuck in a snow mound while outside and his feet were buried in ice and snow. He laughed because his feet remain toasty warm. These boots look enormous because of the extra liner inside. He couldn’t be happier and hopefully he will not outgrow this pair anytime soon.

Boots are very warm and comfortable. Sizing is slightly large to allow for sock layering, but no more than a half size. Can’t wait to try them out on the slopes at Whistler. Very fast shipping. Very satisfied.

The Sorel Glacier boot is expensive but well worth the money. It keeps feet warm and dry and has great grip on icy surfaces. Haven\'t been in temps even near the rated -100F but have never lacked for warmth. Boots are very comfortable with lots of cushioning as well. Would recommend this boot to anyone who has to be outside in the cold and snow!

Warmest boot I've ever owned! Removable bootie is great. Boot seems to feel heavy until you put them on, then they are very comfortable.

Finally, warm toes! One thing that's always bothered me when I'm hunting is my toes getting cold. Well, not in these boots! They're well made and WARM!

Better than I could have imagined! The warmth of this boot was unbelievable. The thinsulate insulation was, as expected, very warm. But the boot is several inches taller than other boots. It is amazing how much warmer the boot is when it rides just a little higher on your calf.

Best Boots I have ever owned - My wife well, girl friend at the time bought these for me about 20yrs ago and I still wear them. I'm looking to buy a new pair. Because the old ones are looking a little worn but are still in good shape. Keep up the quality. {awesome boots!!!}

Great - The Sorel's Glaciers boots are best boots that I have ever bought for my husband and 13 year old son. They spend a lot of time on the ice and outdoors and their feet stay warm. My son’s feet would get really cold in his old boot and now he doesn’t go outside with out his Sorels.

Wonderful winter boots! I initially bought these boots to ensure warm feet during winter snowshoeing hikes into inland lakes in northern Ontario. Well, the warmth and comfort, I did get, but wow, were they heavy! They are made extremely well made, but I would only recommend them for winter sports where a lot of walking would not be required. I absolutely love these boots anyways. Thank you Sorel!

Sorel is my favourite winter boot manufacturer hands down.

Very Happy - I brought these boots for my boyfriend. He works outdoors, sometimes in very cold weather. He told me his co-workers were wearing these on a specific site and their feet were warm. SO, I decided to suprise him with a pair for Christmas. Not only was he suprised, but he likes these boots very much. He stated how warm and comfortable they are. Since the winter hasn't been that cold, he hasn't worn them at work yet. But, he dose wear them to put out the trash, to go start the car or just around the house. I CAN'T GET HIM OUT OF THEM!

Great service - The free shipping was great. I was able to track the order online. My husband said the fit was good and they are warm, just a little heavy. Style isn't an issue when you are towing people out of ditches at 2am in the snow off the side of the expressway.

Awesome Boot! I bought a snowmobile in the spring of 2005 and after getting all of the Polaris gear I needed boots, but couldn't afford the Pure Polaris boots. I found these and am I glad I did! These boots are definitely the warmest things I have ever owned, and snowmobiling in sub-zero weather on the Tug Hill Plateau in Upstate NY last winter was wonderful because my feet were toasty warm. I would highly recommend these boots for anyone looking for value, comfort and warmth when sledding or doing any winter outdoor activity. They are heavy, and wouldn't want to be walking for a long time in them, but that isn't an issue when snowmobiling. One pair of socks underneath is all I needed to wear, and the boots were very comfortable.

Trust this review, I used to sell top line outdoor equip. Got these in august I think. It was 90 something outside. However, I do own a pair of Caribous and they are warm, and they have nothing on these. these have insulation in the shaftof the outer boot, a thick removable liner and even a removable insulated insole in the liner and another between the liner and the outer boot. I am not worried about the cold even while winter camping or doing astrophotography. They are heavy. These are NOT made for walking long or even moderate distances. They do fit very well and would be great for outside workers (snow removal?). These are made for low activity in cold weather. They are rate to -100F, but would be great for anything below about 15F unless you are very active. Sorels fit true to size, but with the molded rubber bottom, they will never break in and are not exactly tailor made but with heavy socks they are like a walking on a cloud and fit very well. Finally, the uppers are probably water RESISTANT, not waterPROOF. If you need a boot rated to -100F, liquid water should not be an issue and they are well enough insulated that your body heat will not escape and melt the snow.

Best deal I ever got! We have used Sorel Glacier boots for years. My son had grown out of his and needed a 13. I could not believe I got these boots for $46.95!!! They are the real thing - they are warm even in Northern Minnesota winters - they look great even a couple of years later - they are tough and keep the water out.
