A classic shoe - Had a pair of these years ago, saw someone in them recently and thought they still look cool. Once a classic always a classic. Comfortable, but not as substantial as I remember them being.

Samba Classic Review - I was very pleased with this order. My order was received quickly and in the time I was given. The shoes are exactly what I expected.

A True Classic - This shoe is a true classic. I am an older male intending to restart an exercise program. This shoe is comfortrable, light and handsome. Its styling remains true to the original adidas shoes.

Nice... But a full size smaller than marked, and a bit narrow.

I feel this is overall a great shoe. They are just the right width, even though they are almost a half size too large.

Awesome Shoe - When I bought the Samba Classic's, I knew that I had made a good choice. I play indoor soccer with them, I use them in P.E. and I sometimes wear them in the Gym. I wear a size 12 1/2 and so I thought that I'd buy them a half size larger so they'd fit longer. Well, big mistake. Now it feels as if they are way too big and I have to wear about 4 pairs of socks to my games. But none the less, these are great shoes. I just wish that I would've bought them the same size that I wear right now. So if you are thinking about buying this shoe, buy it the SAME size as you are right now, so that it won't be way to big when you buy it. Overall I'd give this shoe a 4 1/2 out of 5.

I ordered these for my fiance for Christmas. These are his 4th or 5th pair of Sambas, he loves them and wears them until they wear out. We were completely satisfied, except that I counldn't tell until we got them that they had such a long tongue on them, unlike his old Sambas. It seems like Adidas changes the appearance a little every so often, but this is a change he did not like, because they won't look very good with shorts this summer. Please tell Adidas to stick to the short tongues unless they are making a pair of cleats. Thanks.

Felt like I was walking on the edge of a 2 x4 when I wore them.

I don't recommend Sambas if you have large feet, especially if they are wide at all. I ordered a size 13, my usual size, and the shoe was the right length but way too narrow. I don't have wide feet, and I have never had a pair of shoes that I couldn't wear because they were too narrow, until now. The shoe is weirdly shaped too, with the narrowest part, which should be at the arch, positioned too far forward, constricting the ball of my foot. When I first got them, the arch support was very uncomfortable on my fairly low arches. It felt like a pebble lodged under the insole. As others have suggested, I pulled out the glued-in insoles and removed the foam arch support, which was very easy to do, and it solved the problem with the arches. Unfortunately I then found that the shoes just don't fit right. For reference, some shoes that fit me well are size 13 in Vans and Saucony.

Toe box is too narrow, tongue is too tall and rubs on bottom of shin. Really like the style, would be better in a wide fit with smaller tongue.

I've been wearing Adidas Samba Classics for the past 10 years and always found them to be ideal. That said, I recently purchased a new pair, which will be the last pair I buy. The original classic was a full leather shoe, this recent pair has been cheapened by replacing the original leather tongue with an injection molded plastic tongue with a fuzzy flocked backing. The heel cuff, which used to be leather, also replaced by a cheap plastic version. The original "Firebird" Adidas logo label sewn onto the tongue has been replaced by a generic rectangular "Adidas" stick-on patch. In all, as with so many once high quality products, it's now just a dumbed down version of the original classic and iconic casual athletic "Samba". Adidas just lost a customer....

I have experienced both these pairs. The classic Adidas Men's Samba Classic Soccer Shoe have a larger tongue, are easier to slip on/off, and provide medium/enhanced arch support. If you wear air-soled running shoes, you probably will not even notice. Personally, I am Not a fan. The arch support has changed in the last three years (the last time I bought this style). Be warned! The original Adidas Men's Samba Reflective Sneaker have a smaller tongue, less arch support (meaning flatter/next to none). I have worn nothing but Chucks and older Sambas happily for many years, and identify with the barefoot-running crowd, so for me, flatter is better. They are harder to slip on/off, but once they are on, they fit like a glove! Yes, they squeak like everyone says. That does not bother me, but then again I am not a movie usher, burglar or otherwise occupied in the skulking arts. Some people will prefer one over the other. For me, the clear winner is the originals.

Too narrow in the widest part of my feet, compared to other brands. Not a fan of the extra long tongue either.

Flimsy outer sole - This is one of those shoes that look great and feels like a good buy, for about three months. Then the outer sole wears out and you can't even walk on wet asphalt without getting your socks wet. Inexpensive, yet not worth the price. Avoid.

Kinda girlie - I like the feel and size of the shoe, although I had to buy size 11 (I usually wear size 10.5). I think the front of the shoe has a girlie look to it, but then again, that might just be me. If it weren't for that girlie look created by the suede/leather interaction on the front, I'd give them a 5.

Cheap. Not very well made.

I bought the Adidas Nova a while back... really great shoe... but haven't seen them anywhere... so I tried this shoe... BIG mistake. Not only did every Samba I try make a squishy sound every time I stepped down (low quality glue to glue the insole in...) but when I took the insoles out... because they were the cause of the viciously high arch support... the shoe just basically fell apart after that... everything went wrong... it's a pretty shoe... but I've stepped on things in the streets of NYC of higher quality than this!!!

This shoe rocks - It's cool comfy and looks good
