I have several pairs of Mephisto shoes. It's been an expensive initial investment but it's worth it because of the comfort and quality Mephisto offers. The Match are excellent walking shoes. I also own a pair of the Storm. I thought the Storm were good walking shoes too, but having worn the Match; I realize there is a big difference. The Match provides a great deal more support (especially in the arch) and is a more durable, yet heavier, shoe. The Storm are great for me in my classroom on my feet all day, but I probably won't wear them for anything more than a stroll. The Match will get me to work and the Storm will be worn once I arrive. I normally wear a size 12 but go with an 11.5 in Mephisto and still have enough wiggle room. Very content with my purchase and Zappos excellent service.

I have been wearing this shoe for five years and it is a great shoe. I liked it so much i had is resoled three times. After five years it was finally time for a new pair.

This is a very comfortable well-made shoe. This is my third pair, each one lasting 10 years! At about year 5, I send it in for reconditioning. Zappos beats everyone else because of the free return shipping if needed.

Just got my second pair. First pair were 7 years old and got thrown away without my knowledge. First pair were made in France, this pair is made in Portugal. Sole material feels tougher in new ones. Leather feels thicker in new ones. The insoles seem different, but I cannot identify how. Size and fit feel the same, and there's nice even lace tension. No pinching anywhere. Arch support seems identical. Looked build quality over very closely, and they are built very, very well. Feel more cushioned compared to the Storm.

My second pair. Great support. Worth the money. Shoes last forever. If US size, order 1/2 size smaller than normal.

I was somewhat hesitant to buy these shoes given the price, but they are well worth it (so far). I have chronic heel pain and it is difficult to find shoes that I can walk in much more than 10 or 15 minutes. So far, these Mephistos have been great. They fit snug and literally mold to the foot almost immediately. I bought them in the tan grain leather, and they are nice looking on top of being comfortable. I have been able to wear these shoes, believe it or not, without the custom orthotics I wear in my other shoes. There is so much support, an orthotic has not been needed (again, so far). The soles are thick and supportive. The leather used is thick, soft and durable, and they are lined with soft leather which surrounds the foot. These really are worth the money all things considered. One note, the salesman told me the shoes run a half size large and he was right. Buy them a half size under your normal size.

It took me two years after first looking at this shoe to break down and pay the price. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Yes. I am over 60 and work on my feet, sometimes 14 hours with nary a break. Knees especially, lower back, ankles and feet all complain. Practically eliminated with this shoe. The Match gives strong support yet is lightweight enough to make constant pivoting and turning easy on the legs, whereas often well-built shoes are too heavy for this kind of movement. If you're thinking of buying, I say take the plunge -- your body will thank you and you'll forget about the cost very quickly. A sound investment.

These shoes fit perfectly and are amazingly comfortable. They are my second pair of Mephistos (the first lasted 15 years). From here on in I will only buy Mephisto.

I was looking for a shoe that I could walk all day on a concrete floor and be comfortable. I am a large man with size 15 feet so I do not always get the best selection. A friend recommended these to me and I was very pleased. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. The cost a bit more than I would normally pay for this type of shoe, but they are worth it. In this case you do get what you pay for. And Zappos is great because they are the first place I go to when buying shoes, and even with my harder to find size, they had a pair in stock.

Terrific walking shoes & an enduring style. Very comfortable & light on the feet. Zappos' recommended size conversion to U.S is accurate.

I always dread buying new shoes because they either never carry my size in the styles I like or they end up not being very comfortable after being on my feet all day.This was the second pair of shoes I purchased within a month because the first pair (Clarks Nature 2) although much cheaper didn't feel comfortable after extended use as they were much to soft in the sole.I hesitatingly tried on the Mephisto Match shoes thinking I would never pay money for a pair of shoes! To my surprise they fit like a glove and my weight felt evenly dispersed across the entire foot bed. The craftsmanship of the shoe was superb and the soles were supportive without feeling spongy as most walking shoes are. I have had them for three months now and I am very happy with my purchase!

My husband has worn this shoe for years. More or less the same style. He wears it everywhere. Even with a sport coat. It is true. They are expensive, but worth every dime. Comfortable and a shoe for all seasons. So what is he getting for father's day? Surprise! Another pair of Mephistos!

I am on my feet working in a counter service capacity for over 10 hours a day. Before I had these shoes my feet suffered and the pain was building to a point where I was really beginning to worry. My brother told me about Mephisto and I ordered these Match shoes and everything changed. Instead of continuing to worsen my feet began improving until the pain disappeared. I have worn them ever since for work and even when I was traveling and exploring parts of Mexico. They are the best shoes I have ever owned.

Great shoe - My husband uses these for golf shoes. He says they give him better support than any golf shoe and the sole has enough traction. He loves them.

Best walking shoe as advertised... This is the best shoe I ever owned. I was just on my feet for 16 hours straight and my feet didn't know it. Worth every penny.

Expensive shoes - and worth it. These are the most comfortable walking shoes I have ever owned.

Mephisto Match - I bought this shoe to take the place of a Mephisto I really liked and had worn out. (I am getting them refurbed.) The new shoe is comfortable and I am taking it on a trip as a walking shoe. The only change I would make in it is for it to be two tone rather than solid grey.

The Best of the Best - I have worn many upscale shoes by Ralph Lauren Polo, Dr. Marten, Finn Comfort, Birkenstock, and others. This shoe is undoubtedly the best shoe I have ever worn. I plan to purchase several pairs of Mephisto shoes for future endeavors.

A most perfect shoe! These are lightweight, soft, gentle, yet with very strong leather. The soles are perfect shock absorbers so that the comfort is everything people read about here. My favorite is the Mephisto Allrounder Como (which may not be made any longer) and then the Abel. With Mephisto, you can never have just one! I use this with more casual dress, but also for longer distant walking, as it is lighter than the Abel. Many describe this as Mephisto's finest comfort shoe. Although I am a fan of many, including the Battler, the reviewers may be correct: an incredibly comfortable shoe to be worn all day with relief for your feet, legs, lower back and neck. Some claim to have headaches reduced by the Mephisto support system for the feet. These are the world's finest shoes; old time quality with modern technology advances in comfort. These are not the cheap throw-aways. The insoles alone cost more than the junkie less expensive shoes. You get what you pay for. Immediate comfort. No breaking in period. Check out Mephisto socks as well...even better than Smartwool!

A site for sore feet - Recently I've come down with a heel concern on my left foot, standing at least 5-7 hrs on my feet a day, I began looking for a causal/good looking shoe for work, I heard so much about Mephisto, quality-comfort, at first I was a little skeptical about the price, but just like anything you get what you pay for. Well let's say it was the best investment I've made this year & look forward to purchasing other styles as well. A personal "Thank You" to Zappos, very much impressed with their prompt service.

My favorite shoe! I have been trying many shoes lately due to foot problems. So far this is the most comfortable, most supportive one I have tried for my wide feet. It takes my Barefoot Science orthotics well with better results than any other shoe I have tried them in - noticeably improves my posture as well as improving comfort. I also tried the Mephisto Storm, but returned them because the fit and comfort was not as good for my feet as the Mephisto Match. I now have two pair of the Match. Zappos service - both in getting them to me and in handling the return - was excellent. I'll be buying more shoes from Zappos in the future.

A fantastic shoe - I wear this model 3 out of 4 days. It is very comfortable, has great support, and I can wear them all day and not have sore feet. This is my favorite shoe.

These shoes are awesome! Easily the best shoes I have ever worn. They are made very well with high quality materials; your feet feel like they are massaged as you walk in them. They are also quite durable. I have been using mine pretty much daily and taken them through 13 countries over the past 7 years. They have been resoled once and re-stitched in the front instep area. One minor flaw to them is the single stitching on the top front on the pair that I own. I noticed that mephisto addressed this as the new pairs of match have double stitching. So, this should no longer be an issue. The style is a little on the "homey" side but overall they are great shoes.

Mephisto Makes It Good - Hey, I've got flat feet! Owwww! The pain of it! Then I discovered orthotics, and shortly after that Mephisto! And there is life after high heels. And what's more, comfort! Truth is you don't wear these shoes if you want to look sleek, because they are what they appear to be: Tough, solid, supportive and comfortable. I bought five pairs and a couple for mom as well. Relax into bliss!
