The heel and footbed are very comfortable, and it seems well made. Strapping is a bit of a fight as mentioned by others, primarily due to the strap being too wide to move smoothly through the buckle. But the deal breaker is the added strips of leather on the inner front of the shoe. Whatever the intent, the effect is an unnatural buckling of the leather towards the foot causing great discomfort with each step. I ordered several pair and all exhibited this issue. I would be willing to consider this product in the future if corrections are made.

A high quality made men's Sandal that is very comfortable and stylishly good looking. My only issue, as others have pointed out is the rather difficult buckle to secure. Would like to have tried the Mephisto Sandal or Pikolinos to compare.

My Naots - Excellent comfort...especially the cushy insole. I love them! My only suggestion to improve this shoe is to offer it in half sizes.

One of the best sandals I have ever worn! I have been looking for quite some time for black sandals that were good looking and comfortable. Well, I found it in the Naot Footwear's Julius sandal. I needed the pair of sandals for a trip to Myrtle Beach in August 2004 and had them overnighted two days before my departure. Wore them 3 out of the 5 nights in Myrtle and was so impressed when I got back I ordered the tan pair and also enjoy wearing them! Additionally, I found the shoes at a lower cost at an on-line store and Zappos acknowledged to give me a credit on my credit card account for the difference in price! Gotta love Zappos for doing this!

Naot Footwear Julius - I bought these sandals in January of 2001 and they were so comfortable. I wore them pretty much every day when it was warm enough. Now, three years later, they're starting to wear out and I'm getting another pair!

Best pair of sandals I have ever owned! This was such a great pair of sandals I am coming back for my second pair (I spilled paint all over my first pair when I was painting my car). The shoes felt great.

Most of my shoes are US size 13. Heeding the reviews, I ordered 14, and my big toes were still touching the straps in front. In addition, my little toes were a bit bound on the side. Finally, the buckles on these were way too far to the side, making it difficult to manipulate them and even to see them while I'll I was trying to maneuver the straps through them and the clasps into the holes.

My 3rd pair of these sandals. Loved the 1st, they lasted many years. The second started ripping apart at the seams within a month so Zappos replaced it September of 2019. It is now early June 2020 and they are ripping apart at the seams again... I won't buy Naot products again; it is ridiculous that this expensive a pair of sandals no longer have the quality they used to.

Beautiful soft leather. I can tell they are hand made due to the quality. Very comfortable and stylish. Can be worn as casual or even dressy. Will order from this company again.

I'm reviewing this for my husband, the Shoes are great, and he loves Naot. He has hardly any padding left on the ball of his feet, so he doesn't walk around without shoes because his feet hurt if he does. Every time he puts on his Naots he remarks how good they feel on his feet.

This is my 7th pair of Naot's (The General was #6) and they are even better than I expected! They are very comfortable, cool on my feet, and very good looking! The quality is top grade!

This pair of sandals are soft and fit perfect. There more like slippers but sturdier.

I bought these for my husband because my women's Naot shoes are the most comfortable walking shoes I've ever owned. He normally wears a size 10-1/2 or 11 shoe, or a 44 in European size. However, the 44 was definitely too small in this style and the 45 fit him perfectly.

Finally the perfect summer shoe - I've bought fishermen sandals each year for the past 4 years and the shoes didn't hold up. I knew each time I bought them that the shoes would only last a season because the way the soles were attached to the rest of the shoe. I got my first pair of Naot sandals today and I was surprised at how they were constructed. I will be surprised if they don't last me a few seasons.

Great SHoe - When they first arrived I thought they might run a touch small, but after wearing them a few times they gave some room and are true to size. Very comfortable and solid feeling. I love them!

Highly Recommended Purchase - I purchased these shoes as a replacement of Dr. Martin Sandlal, for my fiance. He loves the look of these sandles and how comfortable they are. He said they feel like Running Shoes. He loves how the insert of the shoe is removable to replace if it ever gets worn out or smelly.

Hated for summer to end - Looked good, felt great! Feet never felt tired or sore. Only bad thing was I could only wear them to work on casual Friday. Fortunately their shoes are just as comfortable and I like their styles. Looking for a third pair in a boot style now.

Fit and size very good..most comfortable shoe I've had..BUT..major problem with buckle..too small and flimsy..very hard to buckle securely. I am taking to special shoe shop to have HD VELCRO fastening instead of current thin and difficult buckle. DWG in Lakeway, Texas

Julius - These shoes are great but run small. I returned the first pair and got a full size larger and now they fit great.

Size and width felt just about right. I love these sandals so much that I bought my second pair just to have a spare pair. They are very comfortable and look great.

Loved the show but too small

This is my 5th pair of Julius. They are comfy as hekk. And sturdy. The removable footbeds work for orthotics. Too bad they are only available in one color.
