The first pair was a little snug. I called and the gentleman walked me through the return label printing and sent out the next size that came in two days. Excellent experience. Highly recommend Zappos.

These shoes are awesome. I was really getting tired of the Smoked Elk color. They are extremely comfortable and go with anything. I liked them so much I bought seven pairs! Once again Zappos is the best!

I was so excited to see Sperry brought this shoe back best shoe I ever had and have missed wearing them for more then 20 years, I ordered them a few months back but had to send them back could not handle the color, would somebody at Sperry please change the color back to the original, I would buy several pairs and clean out my closet.

Great versatile shoe for style, comfort, and performance - Probably one of the smartest looking, most comfortable, versatile shoes I have ever owned. Gets more attention from the ladies than Bruno Magli, Ferragamo, Cole Haan, and have been buying at least two pairs of this shoe yearly since I was a teenager in Southern California 40 years ago… save for a several year hiatus when they stopped producing them. These shoes are great on the boat and also with khakis and a blazer. Also, go very well with Tommy Bahama Resort wear. They eventually resumed production a few years ago and I tried ordering online, but was only able to get one pair at a time due to limited availability. I never could buy 5-6 pairs at a time which I was willing to do. Unfortunately, Sperry continues to make this and most of their other products now only in medium widths. It would appear that Sperry is willing to concede market share to their more accommodating competitors that seem to be more in touch with the broader market and they may not need the money. If they come to their senses and begin producing these in wide sizes, please notify me at once as I would gladly order and prepay for a dozen pair if I could count on receiving them. Thank you!

Captains Shoe - Have been wearing this shoe for 25 years.. Hard to wear out, one problem, shoe laces.. Need a couple of pair for existing pair.

Dress boat shoe - I love this shoe, but the color is almost green. I would keep 2 pair all the time if they would get rid of the green look.

Brought me back... From the moment I opened the box, this shoe brought back a flood of memories from growing up in San Diego and Laguna Beach, California. I was psyched to find them for sale at Zappos and will buy a few more pairs in order to make sure I have them if for any reason Sperry stops making them again. They are incredibly comfortable and look great with shorts, jeans, and khaki's. The color is still a matter of personal taste, but I now have my favorite shoes back in my closet and on my feet.

Sperry Captains Oxfords--The Best in SoCal - Stumbled across these shoes at Nordstoms in South Coast Plaza after not seeing them for almost 20yrs. Quickly purchased a pair and remembered the eighties - Polo, Topsiders, The Beach and summers in the sun. I only wish the soles lasted as long as the soul of the shoe.

Ted, Southern California - Maybe I missed something, but why change or discontinue a product that has such a strong and loyal following? I have been wearing the captain's oxfords for probably twenty-five years; when they were made available in the bone (off-white) color. For fear that they would be discontinued, I bought pairs to store away; they were that nice of a shoe! All those pairs have been resoled as far as they can go. I hope that Sperry will bring back the colors again.

These shoes are the coolest - I thought they stopped making these. Over 20 years ago I bought 2 pairs (one to put away) and wore both out and haven't seen them for sale since. You'll get goofy comments like they're old man's shoes but they are in a class by themselves!

These shoes are one of my favorite shoes I own. After purchasing the last pair in a small shop in Annapolis, Maryland, (known to be a big sailing/boating town--not that I sail) I thought I'd never see another pair again! They have an amazing feel (the softest leather) and and you can run in them the first time you put them on. I have a pair in grey and they have a totally hip geeky cool look to them with a sport coat or even a suit. The sole is this (almost rock) hard foam one piece that looks totally nifty when you put your feet up and recline. A couple of people tell me that they look like bowling shoes on the bottom, but I just let them know these are one of the original boat shoes made by the company that invented the term.

Sweet - Just like I remember them. However, the soles do not last as long..

I initially tried on these shoes & stayed on carpet for about 1/2 hour. Every thing seemed fine. Therefore I wore them the following day. After about 6 hours they were killing my feet. I was able to switch to sandals a short while later & was able to feel relieved. I would have to say that the uppers are very stiff & the width is not accurate. They give you a false read on fit in the beginning. I cannot return them now since I wore them outside.

Top Siders Forever - I've been wearing the Top-Sider Captain's Oxford for nearly 35 years. Well, not the same pair, but indeed the same style. Perhaps it should be called the Newport, as it is THE shoe for Newport Beach, California. I've noticed this show is now manufactured overseas, and while it looks the same, my only comment would be that the SOLE wears out way too quickly compared to the originals. There was a time when it was offered in a Platinum greyish color as well, which would be nice to see again. But the trademark original color is still wonderful.
