Ordered these last minute for my sons Prom. I love the look but SUPER disappointed that they were over a full size larger than every other size 10.5 that he owns. He had to wear them like that bc I had no time to return. Now he has to live with shoes that he’ll never wear again cuz they r sooo big and I’m out $150

Love the look of these so purchased as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. They looked great, fit fine (he has a fairly wide foot - where toes meet the foot) but the back dug into the back of his heel/achilles & were so uncomfortable. He walked around the house thinking maybe he could feel that they may give & soften, but after just a few minutes he said it was too painful & took them off. Needless to say, we're sending them back. Already purchased & has worn the Johnston & Murphy chukkas several times. They look great & he says they are very comfortable (even the 1st day).

These boots were way too big. I bought a pair of boots of similar design at a store at size 8.5, so I bought the Clarks boots at 8.5. These were at least 1 inch bigger than the other boots so I had to return them.

This has to be the most uncomfortable chukka boots I have ever put on my feet! The tongue is stiff and cuts into the front of my ankles. Their are only 2 lace eyelets and they are positioned low so that the collar of the boots are loose, causing the back of the boots to rub up and down on my heels as I walk. Guaranteed to produce blisters. I gave them points for style, as the beeswax leather is very attractive. In the final analysis, however, life is too short to wear uncomfortable shoes. I truly expected more from Clark's.

This is a good looking shoe, but the the laces don't support the top of the shoe, and therefore there is considerable movement around the heel and ankle. I've had blisters on my heel every time I've worn these shoes.

These were my third pair of desert boots, and the exact same size as before, but I could not even get my foot in the shoe! I was totally shocked at how narrow the shoe was and I was forced to return.

I love this classic and have always wanted a pair. I tried on three different sizes (9, 9.5, 10) — thank you, Zappos! — but in each of them my heel would slip when I walked. Even with the 10 that worked best for length and width. There’s nothing wrong with the shoes themselves and there are clearly reasons they have been around forever. They just didn’t work with my feet.

The color Beeswax is much lighter in person. It's more of a dusty medium flat brown, nothing like the deep chocolate with a hint of red shown in the image online. The color further lightens after just a couple hours of wear. The leather inside at the back digs deeply into my heels and would surely cause bad blisters if I had not inserted adhesives foam heel pads.

These shoes looked great when I bought them. I've owned a few pairs of desert boots so I knew how comfortable they are. All was going well, I had only worn them a few times, but the last time I put them on I noticed trouble. Not sure if I stepped on something, but the soles seem to be melting. They are now sticky to the point where everything sticks to them - hair, leaves, sand, you name it. Tried cleaning with mild soap and water, no dice.

The description says that the shoes are "suede," which typically means leather with a napped/rough finish. The uppers are actually constructed of "man made materials." After weeks of wear, they do not break-in like leather.

Clarks Desert Boot Beeswax:
The boots arrived with quite uneven coloring, unlike the even coloring of the boots in the photo. I thought I could even-out the coloring, and avoid returning the boots, by applying leather protector, but that did no good. I should have just returned them. In the end, I am not happy with the purchase.

I can't wear these more than once a week because they make my feet sore. My toes and heels especially feel raw after wearing them a whole day. Breaking them in hasn't helped much. It's a shame because I love the look of the beeswax CDBs.

The style is great and they look great with jeans. They are somehat comfortable. More comfortable than most boots I have. The only problem with the boot is the white trim on the outside turns black after only a couple times wearing them which ruins the shoe for me.

I don't like those shoes I purchased. First they are uncomfortable. My feet hurt after standing up for a while. I bought Dr Sholl's soles to try to remedy that. Second the white crepe rubber sole turns a dirty black color. Third the leather warped when it dried after getting wet.

Clarks are the original chukka -- but they are lacking. The fit was at least an entire size too small. I wear a 10.5, and their 11 was way too small. The taupe color was much lighter in person than on the web image. Still looking for a chukka that fits and has more support.

Not what the used to be. I am not prone to heel blisters but got them from these. I used to buy these all the time back in the day lived in them barefooted and loved them. Now I find they are built poorly and without a smooth transition between the inside heel back and upper, leaving a line that caused the blister. I was remiss in holding onto them so long, MY FAULT, SHOULD HAVE RETURNED THEM. In my opinion The original simple practical and economic boot is history. And is now an over priced poorly constructed fashion farce.

Gorgeous looking boots but that's about it. Initially they felt alright, but I wore them for a day and returned home with feet actually in pain. Others have said that the shoes are a size too big, and they're definitely right, but though I did get them a half size smaller than I'd normally wear my feet were still rubbing up against the back! Felt like they were going to slip out. And I'm not clear a smaller size would've been that much better: when I tried to tighten them as best I could (the lack of a third slot for laces means you can't tighten them further), the leather around the laces pressed against the top of my feet, which ended up hurting a *lot* as I wore them throughout the day. I could try to mess around with foam inserts and things but after my experience I'd really rather not have anything to do with these shoes. Perhaps my feet are simply weird or other people are alright sacrificing comfort for style, but I was extremely disappointed with these shoes. Simply stiff and uncomfortable.

My overall review is negative because the fit was just never right. Arch support is very poor. I returned the first pair that I received because I decided that I didn't like the color. These boots have very flimsy laces which look like they will not last long. However, the first pair came with additional leather laces, which I didn't receive with the subsequent pair. Regarding fit, I think the main problem is that the eyes for the laces are too low, resulting in a loose fit at the ankles. During the break in period, my ankles were continually chafed by the boots. Even after being broken in, I realized that they were never going to feel comfortable and gave the boots away.

I wore these for a few months until I couldn't take the pain anymore (the shoelace snapping in my hand was just the last straw). Great looking shoe, got a lot of compliments, but they obviously were't designed with human bones and flesh in mind.

Most uncomfortable shoe I have ever worn. I have stopped wearing them. My arch began to cramp. The heel is so wide I could never get the shoe to stop slipping. I tried several innersoles and nothing worked. You'd think for the price they'd add some support. It is a very flat shoe with no support. I'd return them but I've worn them out a couple of times to give them a chance, but I will end up donating them to Goodwill. They look great but feel horrible.

Just a word of warning: if you have foot problems, these shoes are not for you. They are absolutely the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn and have no support of any kind. None-the-less I own two pairs, because they look so darn good! I have resorted to only wearing them to house parties where I am likely to be standing on carpet or sitting down a lot. I have no idea how anyone could wear these around for any amount of time. Walking on concrete becomes very painful after a while. The Suede ones are far more comfortable than the Beeswax, which are the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn in my life. They are also tight vertically in the toe area, so any extra insole you use has to be very thin. Good luck!

Clark's Desert Boot Not As I Remember -
I purchased the boots with the expectation that they would provide a comfortable casual shoe. Instead I found the quality and workmanship not as I remember, but rather of the quality usually reserved for mass-produced shoes in discount stores. Needless to say I will be returning the shoe.
