Don't waste your money! I bought a pair of Birkenstocks after hearing co workers rave about them. I was very dissappointed that they never felt comfortable, my arches constantly ached, and my feet became very painful and sore. The shoes failed in less than 4 months, and split to the center cork. I took them back to the reputable Birkenstock Dealer where I had purchased them, they then in turn sent the shoes back to the factory, I expected to at least get either a new pair of shoes of my choice from the line or at least get some kind of reimbursement, but their customer service was horrible, even though I had not abused the shoes, and had only worn them for my work as a nurse. I will never again waste my money on anything from Birkenstock, and would recommend that others do the same. Very Very Poor customer service!!!!!!

Let me begin by stating that I have tried so many shoes. I am a registered nurse in an ICU. Since beginning nursing about 2½ years ago, I have developed a raging case of plantar fasciitis. I have had steroid injections into the heels of my feet twice. I have had custom orthotics. I also did physical therapy for a couple of months. This helped a lot, but I cannot find anybody to deep massage my calves for cheaper. And, to top it all off, I broke a metatarsal bone in my foot which amped up the plantar fasciitis. I have tried New Balance, Danskos, Allegria, Hoka running shoes, Crocs, Walking Company Obeos, and a very expensive pair of Finn Comforts. This does not include things I tried and took back. What I have worn to work the most are the Allegrias, but I think they make me oversupinate and cause pain along the outer edge of my foot. I have worn these to work twice, and the plantar fasciitis is already getting better. During the middle of the last few shifts, I have realized, "Hey, my feet feel all right... huh." I used to wake up and hobble down the hallway for my first steps of the day. Now I can wake up and walk - though still with pain at this point, and it will not kill me or almost bring me to tears. Before buying these shoes, I wore (and still wear) Birkenstock Boston soft bed suede around the house. Though comfortable, these were not the best option for work. I went to the local Birkenstock store and tried the Super Birki and the Birki professional. The Super Birki was not for me. I went back and exchanged them for these. To qualify a few things: The salesman put a cushioning insole in these shoes stating it helps them fit better. It really does help. What would otherwise be a bit hard and big fits just right. The particular Birkenstock insole is not sold by Zappos. It is called the foot length air cushion insole. These shoes are a bit clunky, but I do not care! The outer shell is not soft and will not give over time. The fit will be the fit forever. These are different from Super Birkis in that Super Birkis have the traditional cork foot bed, while these have a polyurethane foot bed. This is why I initially got the Super Birkis because I felt so reluctant to stray from the cork. The Super Birkis have a very shallow heel, and I found myself stepping on the outer edge even with an appropriate size. These have a very deep heel and your foot is mostly safe from any workplace hazards or fluids - but they are not winning any fashion awards for sure. Also, the Super Birkis have a slicker bottom while the Professionals have more grip. I have wide feet. I have never been a heel-wearer or girly shoe wearer. I have average arches. I have surgical screws in my metatarsal bone. I am not a sweaty person. These shoes do not feel excessively warm. When I sit down, I occasionally slip my foot out and never noticed excessive moisture. I wear a 41 in Bostons, and I got a 41 (with insoles) in Birki Professionals. Good luck on your quest for comfort.

What a wonderful find. I have two pair: one for walking the dog (raspberry) and the other for work (black). Easy to slip on. They feel good on your feet, especially if you are on your feet a lot during the day. The shoe overall is much more rigid than Crocs. Super easy clean up. Just what I was looking for. This shoe is a good alternative to Dansko/Sanita clogs if you are looking for variety.

I tried them on after a half day at work on my feet and they felt incredible, the pain was somehow absorbed into the footbed. The only problem was that I inadvertently ordered Reg Width instead of Narrow, darn! Would love it in real leather.

Attractive? No, but I got them for work because I stand all day. I followed other reviewers' recommendations and ordered down. The large fit takes a little getting used to but they are awesome. I had a little knee/hip pain the first day that I am chalking up to my body getting used to being properly aligned. The best part of all is I woke up the next morning with no back pain. I've been suffering with chronic back pain for over a decade. I will be buying more of this brand.

Just got my pair of these and love them! Good solid construction and comfy but I have 3 pairs of Birks and I should have known to order a size down. I normally wear a size 39 but got these in record time, by the way, and they where a tad too big so I am sending them back for a size 38 which I know will fit perfectly per looking at past reviews. Can't wait to get them.

Love them! At first I wanted to return them. But once you get used to them and are 'broken in' you'll love them.

I have worked in kitchens my whole life and I stand on my feet for eight hours a day. I have difficult (wide, pronating) feet. I love these clogs. They are extremely comfortable and durable and fit like a dream. The formed footbed and open toebox of a Birkenstock do well.

Comfortable. Fits larger than other Birkenstock footwear. Gave them to a friend who has larger feet than I do. I am going to order one or two sizes smaller.

These shoes should come with a manual! Or a diagram, or both. The fit is a bit tricky here. I got my pair of 39s and was worried that they would be too big. Oddly enough they fit the contour of my feet like gloves but were really loose and felt too big to walk in. I have wider feet and wear 8½ or 9 in women's. I went to a shoe store that specializes in Birks, Klogs Danskos and other similar shoes. The sales guy took my footbed out of the clog and had me step on it at which point it became obvious that they were the right size. You do need a few days to walk in them and then they almost seem to shrink by adapting to your shape and stride. I do not think that the style is ugly at all but unfortunately if you wear a size 8 or higher the shoes do appear huge but your toes should not be touching the front and your heels should not be up against the back. There should be room all around. My feet were so warm and comfortable as soon as I put them on. I want to wear them everywhere all of the time. The only complaint is I went hiking and got a lot of mud on the bottom and sides thinking that I could just wash them and wipe them down like everyone says. It took a lot of effort and a long time and when they dried there were marks of mud all over. I might need to use a spray or something to help restore them to their natural color. Bottom line they are worth messing with if you have to try a few different sizes.

These shoes have great arch support but killer on my toes. And the shoe kept flopping and knocking my socks off. They were my correct size. Seems like a great shoe I'm a little disappointed .

These were very comfortable but I did not get the sizing right, normally I wear a 8-8.5 so I ordered a 39 but it was at least one size too large.

While I quite like the look of the shoe and will continue to use it for kicking around the house or things like that, it is not a good shoe for lots of walking - ie nursing (as in my case). Your feet tend to slosh around in there and as a result the toes get banged against the front of the shoe hundreds of times - resulting in sore toes by the end of the shift. I can't recommend them in that type of situation. Where it is more of an issue of standing for long amounts of time - such as in a professional kitchen - they might be fine. Also I usually fit a 9.5 but had to end up with the equivalent of a 10 (Euro size 43) for them to fit (I sent back a 42).

I'm a bartender just off a nine hour shift and my feet are killing me! I've had these shoes about 6 months. I just got insoles which have helped a little bit but for the price I don't feel like I should have to. Plus the tops are so hard that the ends of my toes are getting callous. They are great for slip residence though.

After my first fitting...I boxed them and said "back you go.' I was ready to send them back quickly but I decided to read more reviews. So these clogs are on my feet once again...as I'm typing this. They do feel an itty bit snug in the middle of my feet. Toes have room and heel is loose. I get they aren't suppose to be snug. I've worn Crocs...but long before those mistakes. I've worn good old wooden clogs growing up. My feet are almost squarish but as I'm getting older my flat feet are having issues. Heel Spur issues and of course bunions! All those years of walking and having extra weight on my bones have caught up to me; however, I won't let that get the best of me. I needed something I could wear to work and not wear sneakers or leathery nurses shoes. I work in retail, so being on my feet is a necessary activity. One foot is pretty okay but my left is achy...big toe hurts, bunion, swelling on the top. Heel spurs not too much and I do stretch out my feet each morning but I'm not crazy about any ritual each day. So this shoe seems to be "pretty good" for now. I can run (in the house) a bit. I won't wear them hiking or in massive downpours but I will sport them. These shoes do want to hold onto my feel around my "archless areas" and the toe room is great; although since I do have a bunion that makes the fit in the toe area questionable. I love that I can pull out the insole and replace with my $600 orthotics...don't worry I ignored they arrived at the Dr's office (5 months) and my deposit of $150.00 is all I paid for them. I mean really, most insurance plans aren't going to eat that cost, why should anyone. These remind of my slippers yet...they aren't falling off as I walk, as those have stretched out...these won't stretch out. I would like to try one of the other...non-professional series in a color. First a whirl with these and I will keep my critique updated as to my experience. Thank you Zappos for allowing shoppers to critique and return for free. I've been a long customer for nearly 20 years. I know my feet and it's a great way to try what you know and what you think you know will fit your feet. From the Zappos door to yours...and all for Free! Kudos for being a great online retailer.

I really wanted to like these. I have been looking for a more cushioned alternative to Dansko's. These have a great arch support, but are so unattractive. The big toe is a little pointed and curled up like an elf shoe. And they are extremely wide.

If you have middle toes that are as long as your big toe, these clogs will likely not work for you. One foot was fine, but on the other the middle 2 toes were pressed up onto the ledge at the front, and these will likely need to be returned after trying one more time in the morning. It's a shame, since I needed some super-comfortable shoes for work, but these will be painful, so no go. A note on sizing - these run about .5 size smaller than typical Birkenstocks, so I sized up, hoping that it would cover on the toes. Not quite. Be aware, and your mileage may vary.

I was so excited to get these, and so disappointed that they run HUGE. I wear a size 9, and ordered according to the chart - a 40. They were at least a full size larger. I couldn't even walk in them without them falling off my feet, and that was with athletic socks. Not sure if I want to try these again, because the fit was so off, and shoe felt so wide. I wear clogs all the time, I know they are roomy at the toes, but this was too much combined with the large size.

I loved the concept of weather resistance and foot comfort/support but noticed the top of my left foot was very sore at the end of the day. It's as though there just isn't enough room in that spot. Also I had to insert a thin foam insole for comfort. The hard plastic was not sufficient.
