Theses are REALLY slick looking! I love these. This just happens to be one of my favorite Doc styles! If you're looking for extreme comfort, then Docs aren't for you (unless you buy insoles).

Classic Old School -
This shoe is the classic old school shoe. I've been wearing Docs for nearly 20 years now, and that is b/c they are what they are...these are not slippers, so don't think you are buying them for comfort. They can be a little stiff at first but the more you wear them, the more you will love them!! Docs are the original!!! What shoe companies have always tried to be, but never quite got it...

Can’t get by without my DM 1925's -
Without a doubt, the best shoe I've ever worn to work. They took a couple of days to (painfully) break in, but now I couldn't do without them.

These shoes are fine. Tasty like pastry. Only drawback is the breaking in period. So far it's been about two weeks, and they still are a little stiff. But they're Docs. It will be worth it.

Cool looking, but tough to break in -
My wife got these for me this Christmas. They look great, but because of the curve in them, they are very tough to break in. I plan on wearing them at work and have been unable to. It would have been better to have tried them on first- I would have realized that they would need "breaking in" time. But, they are beautiful shoes and are well made- and they look GREAT. After they are broken in, no doubt they will be my favorite shoes!

Dr. Marten safety shoes -
The sizing is always hard, so they are bigger than I thought. I'm not a big fan of Dr. Marten's because there is no arch, but they were the best looking steel toe I could find (which isn't saying much).
I was disappointed because the description didn't specify if they were certified safety shoes and when they came they were not. This is critical to many people who need steel toe for work.
The Zappos experience was wonderful, as always.

Great looks, questionable comfort -
This is not a bad shoe; it's just not as comfortable as it is good looking. It may simply be a matter of break-in that's required to get these shoes comfy but the tongue tends to dig into my upper foot and the insole is not particularly soft. I was actually looking for a replacement for my steel-toe Skechers -- a very comfortable shoe -- only to find out they no longer manufacture the steel toes. I decided to give Dr. Martens a try instead. Overall, I think it is a very good shoe but not one that I would want to wear for an extended period of time.

Steel Toe Dr. Martins -
They, like any other steel toe boot, are not extremely comfortable; however, they are more comfortable than other steel toes that I have tried. I really like the looks of them. They were exactly what I was looking for. Zappos did well in getting them to me quickly.

It took a while to break in, in the the mean time I had to wear band aids on my ankles. After a few weeks things were fine and the shoe fits pretty well. They look great, and have gotten many compliments on them. They do seem to scratch and tear easily though, and I hope that isn't a sign of poor durability. At this point I can't tell, I've only had them for about a month or so. But the leather has been heavily scratched and I can't buff it out. I don't kick things all the time with them but I do wear them everywhere and anywhere.

Cherry oxblood steeltoes.
Awesome looking shoes, just not so comfortable. Great for a night out, but I'll stick with my Clarks for everyday wear.

I'd give them four and a half stars if I could. Love how these shoes look, but there is no padding in the back so a blister was involved in the break-in period. With time these shoes are comfortable, but break them in slow and easy.

Great lasting shoe, takes polish well -
These shoes last forever, the only reason I had to buy a new pair was because I had these for 6 years and they were starting to smell just a bit, and the sole may crack pretty soon. They are ok in the comfort department, takes about a month to break in, really need to break in these shoes. Sneakers rule but you cant really wear them to work.

Slightly umcomfortable
Working in retail I'm constantly on my feet. I originally had an older pair of doc's which I was very happy with. Stepping up the notch from my original pair I went with these cause of the steel feature for extra ruggedness. The shoes look fantastic, however tended to hurt my heels and all around feet. I now only wear these for when I go out, opposed to everyday work. If you're looking for something more comfortable i suggest you get the 1A08 series shoes.

Not a safety shoe; not enough support mid-sole.
I've been wearing mine about six or eight months now. Not long after getting them, I realized that they weren't really great for working on your feet on concrete all day. They're great for walking, office stuff, etc., but not if you work on your feet. The soles are too flexible. The uppers stretched out pretty quick and insoles bought me a few more months. I'll be going back to CATs for work.

Not sure why these docs keep splitting, where the air sole meets the shoe. It's happened to the last 3 pair I've purchased

These shoes are nice to look at, but not very functional or comfortable. Mine have lasted at about 4 years. However, the leather is not of good quality. It cracked and tore at the stitching, especially at the heel. Plus, I do not like how small the treads/grooves are on the bottom of the shoe. Mine wore down quickly. I prefer the thick, normal (chunky) boot sole.

Warning - not a safety shoe!
On the inside of the shoe is a label reading; "NON-SAFETY FOOTWEAR". The tag attached to the shoe goes on to warn you again that they are not safety shoes. Do not assume that because they have a steel toe they are a safety shoe. They are not ANSI rated and if you are required by your employer, as I am, to wear ANSI rated safety shoes on the job, these are not what you need. I didn't think they were that comfortable either, but in fairness, I am not keeping them long enough to break them in. If for some reason you just want a heavy non-safety shoe with a steel toe and "clownish" looking toe, these may be just what you're looking for. Why not just buy the same thing without the steel toe? Zappos is the best place online to get shoes, with their fast shipping and easy return policy. So thanks to Zappos but these shoes will have to go back.

Yes, they're Doc's but...
They kinda bulge in the front top portion of the shoe. My wife joked it looked "clownish." The back part of the shoe gave me blisters on the back of my ankles...Thought these would be as comfortable as my previous pairs, but I was wrong. Will keep them as a back up shoe, though.

Dr. Martens 1925 -
The color (red) was not as bright as I thought it would be--but they should blend in with my clothing. The sole is not as think as I have enjoyed in my other Doc's. I have not had a chance to quite break them in (because the weather is still hot), but they have been comfortable when I have tried them on at home.

I have worn Docs for a long time. They used to have cushioning around the edges and felt comfortable on my foot and ankles. These felt like they were cutting into my skin- and these were the second pair I tried! Very disappointed with the new styles.

I used to love Doc Martens but somewhere they changed and became less comfortable but more mainstream. I wanted to love these shoes and for a minute I did, but all in all they are very heavy, run too large and wear on you after only a short time. I would return these if I could but I've had them 10 months. Not Zappos fault - I should have done it sooner.

Old school style, ultra uncomfortable -
I've been wearing Docs for over 15 years and these were the first steel-toes I bought from them. While I swear by Docs, these things were horrifyingly uncomfortable. I wore them for about a month before giving up. They just didn't break in. Another thing that annoyed me was that the inside heel was suede so the shoe didn't move when I walked and I got mad blisters. All other Docs have smooth leather inside and are super comfy. Not so with this style. No Bueno.

A really handsome shoe but my god, it's so much narrower than all the other doc martens of the same size. Ouch!
