Back on my feet because of ecco Track II -
I have had major back pain and ankle stability problems since I broke my back in a car accident. A friend refered me to Ecco and said they would help, man have they ever! I have worn nothing other than Track II's for the last 6 years. I have purchased 2 black and 3 brown over that time and I strongly believe the $200 per pair is worth every penny. I have looked at others and tried many and nothing else comes close. My only complaint is they arnt the most stylish shoe, but I cant have everything. Oh, and the soles on mine have shown ware but nothing out of the ordinary. They need to be soft to keep them non-skid, to me this is a fair trade off. I have slipped in many others, not these.

2 resoles and still going strong -
I have worn these for the past five years working (construction engineer)in Thailand, Colombia, Iraq, Algeria, Nigeria, Dominican Republic and Mexico. It is true the original soles wear out quick, but they sure are comfortable. The best $200 I have ever spent.

Mark Christian -
I was going to to the foot doctor once a month trying to get relief with aching feet. A friend of mine said he had similar problems and bought a pair of ecco's and hasn't had aching feet anymore, so I gave them a try. The best $200.00 I ever spent. I now own three pairs of ecco's and ordering a fourth pair. Yes the soles do come apart after about three years of HEAVY ABUSE, but I spent a whole lot more than that at the foot Doctor. I consider this cheap insurance. BY FAR, the best shoes I've ever owned. Don't change a THING.

This is the third pair of the ECCO Track II's that I've owned and I still love them. I wear them while guiding tourists on hikes in the tropics and they are a pleasure to wear, day in and day out.

This is my third pair of these. The first were awesome - lasted 3+ years of daily wear. Second pair was not quite as comfortable or durable and had less arch support. The outsole wore through much quicker. I had seen several reviews from others who said the same so I tried a newer version (Track IV or V - can't recall) and they were worse in every way. The leather actually ripped out on the sides of both boots within a few weeks. I returned them and got a refund. I'm a restaurant manager and I need a boot that is waterproof, durable, comfortable for 12+ hour days, and non-slip. I've tried others with no success. While these still get an occasional negative review I decided to try them again since nothing else I've found meets my needs. The new boots are still pretty comfortable right out of the box, but still are lacking in arch support. I've supplemented this with a good pair of orthotic inserts (more expense on top of an already higher priced boot) and it has helped a lot with arch support. I just hope they last long enough to be worth the money. Side note - if I didn't have narrow feet, the laces would be too short. There is barely enough length left to get them tied.

Ecco Track II High -
This is the third pair of these that I have bought. The first pair is still the best. Second pair stitching is falling apart. And each pair seems narrower than the first. I still can't find anything I like better because of their lightness and the fact that they are truly waterproof...at least for a long time.

Excellent Boots But.......
These are by far the most comfortable boots I have ever worn, out of the box. My only criticism is tht the stitching blow the laces, on the inside of the toe, have come out on both left and right boots. I have owned 3 pairs and the same thing has happened on all of them. About a years wear is all I can get out of them. I am going to try the round toe style this time.

I've had the originals for over 3 years now. They still look great and I still get comments on them. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned (as well as the most expensive). Unfortunately the soles are starting to fall apart (specifically the beige coating at the heel). Sadly I see from another's comment here that they cannot be re-soled. It’s a shame because the uppers are in great condition. But the fact that these have been great shoes (the best I've ever had) and they've lasted years has convinced me to buy some more Eccos. I'm currently looking that the classic apron shoe.

I bought a pair of the original Track Terrain boot about a year ago, since I was in search of a nice-looking, comfortable, BLACK pair of boots I could wear with my uniform (I'm part of a community service/disaster relief organization). I've worn them almost every day since then. I was surprised at how long it took me to break these puppies in. I have a slightly wide foot, and even though these boots were reportedly designed for a slightly wide foot, my dogs must have been just a little too wide. Since I didn't have the choice to get rid of these and get different boots (a money/pride issue), I stuck with these and eventually broke them in to a reasonably comfortable status. I found that where the leather stopped and the tongue of the boot began dug into the top of my foot for the longest time. I love the look of the boots, funky, modern, and clean. The Track II's don't compare in this realm. My original Track Terrains show no signs of giving up the ghost any time soon. With a good polishing they look almost new.

I've owned the same pair for about 6 years. After about five years I had them resoled through an Ecco authorized facility. The sole has split and delaminated on one boot, the glue along the edge has separated and the stitching has torn. They were great for the first five years, but after having them reconditioned and wearing them for just a year they basically came apart. While I like the way they look I wouldn't buy another pair because I have lost faith in the durability of the new material.

This is my third pair of Track II's, but my first pair of the boots. The boots look great and feel just like the low shoes. They have felt great since I first put them on. They have great ankle support. Unfortunately, the stitching on the toe has already started to come apart after a month of use. This is not the quality I expect from Ecco.

I had a pair of these a few years ago and I did some arduous hikes in them. Unfortunately, the lug soles deteriorated and Ecco informed me there was no way to replace the lug sole, but rather a different sole through one of their authorized repair shops. I did this and then had a practically smooth sole on them, which was okay, because I was then living near the desert SW part of the USA. I was disappointed the sole fell apart.

I've had two pair of the Track II boots and love them "except" the thread in the welt on the toe wears out "fast." I have a pair now that I wore elk hunting this last season that leaked because of the worn out welting on the toe of the boots. I will buy the "Smooth toe" boots next time.

For the price, the durability of this boot is lacking. I work on golf courses and expected at least three seasons out of this boot, as those half the price lasted two full seasons. However, in the middle of the second season the seams on the mock toe and sides of the boot started to show signs of separation, and by the end of the second year the leather had ripped apart at the stitching. However, the boots were very comfortable on long days and maintained waterproof even after the seams had begun to separate.

This boot is very narrow in the forefoot area. I hoped that the boot would stretch and the issue would resolve itself since the rest of it is comfortable and easy on the eyes but no such luck. Unless you have a narrow foot you will most likely have difficulty wearing this particular boot and I'd hate for anyone else to throw their money away. I read other similar reviews but ignored them....buyer beware.

Track -
Great boots, but bad soles! These boots are very warm and comfortable and they like wider feet. Mine lasted 2 years then the soles just fell off, although the uppers were still perfect. No one could resole them and Ecco would do nothing. These boots were not abused. Vibram soles last forever why not ECCOs?

I've had my Ecco Track II High boots for about 1 1/2 years, but in the last two weeks the sole started coming off for no apparent reason. I use them in the yard and for occasional hikes and now own 3 other pairs for work and pleasure. They fit great, but this pair of boots is rapidly becoming junk!

First pair great second not so great -
I purchased my first pair of track II's in 2000 and I wore them hard. I farm and ranch and do alot of hunting and hiking, always comfortable and dry feet, cold winters to hot summer they worked. I did have to sew the top seam on one of them but other than that could not wear the soles out. Then last summer 2002 I replaced and had good luck, same thing every day boot to elk hunts, in short alot of quality foot in boot time, then this spring they started to get uncomfortable and noticed the soles starting to come apart and now the sole are shot plus one top seem started to come apart. So first pair great, second not so great. Did the company change material for the soles?

I have worn these about a year. they have the same problem as the last pair. The stitching starts unraveling and the shoe splits open letting water inside. they still look good wear wise other than they fell apart. I would like to switch to the smooth toe, but they don't offer that with the softer sole and you will slip on wet surfaces. pretty disappointed for the money. years ago before they messed with changing the styles I got 2 1/2 years out of a pair, now 12 months if your lucky.

I was looking for a good casual boot. I did not find it here, felt like I was wearing footballs. I have 3 problems with this boot. First as I mentioned they felt like footballs on my feet, second the sole seemed to give out after a few months, not sure why as I weigh about 190 pounds, but they seemed to become hard and lose the cushion the soles had originally. Three, the stitching came undone around the toe box area in the third week on both shoes. I stopped wearing them when the soles gave out even though I did not really like the feel of wearing footballs but I took a chance that they might change with some breaking in but they simply fell apart. I replaced these with a pair of Mephisto Battlers and wish that I would have got them in the first place. Try Mephisto boots, you will see the difference there.

Nice shoe, poor sole quality -
My husband has owned quite a number of Ecco shoes over the years. The comfort level is wonderful, the quality of the soles is very poor. Though the shoe continues to look good from the outside, you are almost walking barefoot on the ground!

Heartbreaker -
Ecco boots would be the all time greatest except for one major problem - the soles have a limited lifetime. This may depend on where they are made. I wish the home office would wise up and improve the quality of their soles. At the price we deserve better!

THEY KEEP FALLING APART!
My husband has had two pairs, both of which were very comfortable, but both lost their soles after very little wear. Ecco replaced the first pair, and the same thing happened again. At the price they charge, they should last longer than three months!
