I've been wearing Minnetonka Double Deers since the mid 60s as my "hiking boots" whenever it's dry where I'm hiking! I love them, and am delighted to have found Zappos where I don't have to pay shipping every time I get a new pair! I'd prefer to hike barefoot, but since that's not possible, the Minnetonka's give me a feeling as close to barefoot as possible, while protecting my feet from the rocks, sand, and gravel I'm usually hiking on in, mostly, the West. Wearing them without socks, my feet stick to the leather insoles just enough to enable me to climb rocks and "walk up" steep Utah slickrock! The leather soles "grip" rock better than any artificial soles I've ever found. When hiking in sand I can quickly slip them off to dump out the sand whenever necessary. When necessary, the insides wipe out easily with a wet cloth. I only wish there was some way to waterproof the soles so I could wear them on wet ground too! And as the soles of each pair start to wear thin from hiking, I wear them in the yard when I'm gardening. They're so comfortable. And with leather insoles, they don't get matted and yucky like the moccasins with fake sheepskin insoles, or torn up like the ones with thin foam rubber insoles. For those who don't like the feel of wearing them barefoot, thin socks would solve the problem. They're luxuriously comfortable and wonderful for any casual wear as long as it's dry where you're walking! (I did get into a sudden rainstorm one time, and the moccasins were saturated! I dried them in a warm room, out of the sun, and after they dried I couldn't even tell they had been soaked!) For the person who had a problem with one of the knots rubbing, I had that problem for the first time (in more than 40 years!) with this pair, in one of the shoes. I laid the shoe on a hard surface and pounded the knot flat with a hammer. Then, since I was going to be hiking and didn't want to chance getting a blister, I put a bandaid over the knot just to be sure. Problem solved! And for those that comment in their reviews that there's no arch support! They're soft sole moccasins! I've never yet found a soft sole moccasin with arch support! I highly recommend these moccasins for anyone who wants to be able to feel barefoot, but still have some protection for their feet! Try 'em! You'll like 'em!

Built narrow, as all the Minnetonka moccasins seem to be. By this I mean that the initial shape out of the box and the internal foam insole are both ultra narrow. Because it's softly structured and made of genuine leather, it will stretch to any shape of foot, including double-wide like mine. This smooth leather style is an alternative to the suede. One advantage over suede slippers is that these are extremely lightweight. They'd be appropriate for ultra light hikers or frequent travelers. This pair weighs 6.4 ounces vs. 10.1 ounces for a similar suede pair. The style is classic and unisex. I don't think anybody would call them "cute" shoes for women, if that's a concern for you. The interior is very nice because it's completely lined in smooth deerskin, seamless as it folds up the sides of your foot. The foam insole is not exposed anywhere, even along the edges. This is nice for me as I'm allergic to some foams and glues that are commonly used in shoes. There is not much exposed stitching on the inside of the shoe to be painful or itchy. I couldn't feel any stitching. The structureless sole is very comfortable. I can find nothing about the quality of the shoe to complain about. I'm returning it for being not a perfect fit/style for my wide feet and being duplicated by some cuter, more colorful Peace Mocs that I will be keeping.

Wonderful moccasins! I use them for house slippers since they are soft-sole. Been wearing them for years, they hold up very well. No half sizes and they run small so buy the next larger size than you would normally wear. Highly recommended!

Durable, comfortable and well-made. For those that reported that the moccasins were a little snug to start with, that is appropriate for natural leather as the leather will stretch and conform to your foot in a short period of time.

These are really nicely made and extremely comfortable. They look terrific, and feel very sure-footed.

Finally had to replace a 10 year old pair worn through. The most wonderfully soft slippers I have ever owned. Feels like walking bare foot, fit like a glove, and still made the same way after all these years.

I had these about 20 years ago and adored them. I have been looking for them (as well as the Minnetonka deerskin rubber sole moccasins) for years and they are fabulous. So comfortable. 5 stars! Thank you Zappos for carrying them.

Wonderful! Surpassed my expectations! I was looking for a good slipper to wear around the house on my hardwood floors, but I didn't expect instant heaven when I slipped them on for the first time. Very soft and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised that there is a layer of cushion, that adds to the comfort. I like to keep my ankles and feet warm, so I wanted to be able to wear socks with them. I wear a 10 1/2, and the 11 was perfect, even with socks on. These were extremely comfortable from the moment I put them on, and imagine I'll get these for the rest of my life! I highly recommend these slippers.

I don't write reviews often, but these warranted a stellar rating and writeup. Bear in mind that these are slippers for me -- I venture outside in them only to get the paper or empty the trash, both of which require only a few steps on concrete. These are the next best thing to going barefoot, which I do so long as the weather allows. But in the cooler months, though, these are my every-single-day-without-fail footwear. I really do live in them. It took me about 30 seconds to wear them in and I have a narrow foot, so I cinched up the ties a bit, knotted them, and trimmed off the excess (which became cat toys). I really can't say enough good things about their comfort, style, durability, and quality. A pluses all around!

Delightfully soft and comfy, right out of the box! I have hardwood floors throughout my home and wanted something to wear inside and barefooted. These fit the bill perfectly! No blisters, have totally formed to my foot, easy it get on and off and they don't make my feet sweat. Awesome!

Love these soft, supple, super comfortable moccasins. This is my 2nd pair, the first ones lasted me 3 years! They are constructed to last long, with comfort -- no pressure points,etc. Although there isn't any arch support, they are designed for wearing around the house. I buy a half-size up.

I bought these for my wife, thinking they were made in the USA, but there was no marking inside the shoe saying they were, so I called Minnetonka. THEY'RE NOT MADE IN THE US. Minnetonka told me that their entire line, except for a few models, are made in the Dominican Republic! This is the last pair of Minnetonkas I'll buy. When these wear out I'll buy a moccasin made in the USA. I checked online and there are plenty of moccasins available that are made in the USA or even by Native Americans for the same price as the Minnetonkas!

These are the most comfortable slippers I have ever worn. True to size. I would not wear outside because they do not have a hard sole.

For indoor use; very soft and feels like another skin for your feet so is very flexible and comfy.

Love them. My last pair lasted forever but was down to walking on my socks. Would buy them again.

I enjoy shopping with Zappos. They have sizes (14) that I couldn't couldn't find in stores. I bought 3 pair of slippers, got free shipping to me and my wife only needed one pair, so we shipped one pair back free. Oh, by the way, I wear my pair of slippers every day and my wife wears hers. We shipped one pair back, only because my wife said she could only wear one pair at a time! So, thanks Zappos, can't wait until I need another pair of shoes, boots or slippers!

These are like silky gloves for your feet! I bought a size smaller than I usually wear and they fit perfectly. Smooth and buttery, well made and a treat for your feet. One knot was in the wrong place a rubbed a bit but I was able to cover it with moleskin and they are fine now.

Have wanted these for years. Heavenly comfort - like walking barefoot, but warmer. I just had to go up to size 10, when I usually would wear a 9 or 9.5. Thank you Zappos for having my size!

I purchased these slippers for my father who is a picky slipper wearer and he absolutely loves the feel of the leather and the fit. And since they don't have a heavy inside lining he can wear them almost year round in Montana. My mom sneaks into them occasionally so I just ordered a pair for her too!

Very soft and comfortable.

These are great for wearing around the house. I wouldn\'t recommend wearing them outside as I don\'t think the sole would hold up very well. They were a little snug at first and I was concerned they might be too tight, but they conformed to my foot very quickly after a day of wearing (with no blisters) and now fit perfectly and are very comfortable. (The next size probably would have been too big.) My husband has the same pair and loves them.

I was extremely pleased with the quality of my slippers, as well as the expedited service I received. The shipping was also a big plus, since it didn't cost me anything for shipping, or if I had to return them, it would be free shipping also. Just one thing... Everything about this shoe is awesome, except one thing, and I am surprised no one else has mentioned it in the reviews... The lacing that terminates in a knot on the (inside) lateral side of both shoes is very hard and therefore painful. I am using folded paper toweling between the knots and my feet until I can find some leather to glue over the knots.
